A major of Jalpaiguri district is covered by forests. Even today this area remains one of
the most prominent wildlife areas of the country and bears the best sal forest in India. The
main forest cover comprises of semi-moist-Deciduous vegetation. Apart from these high-rise
forests throne are floodplains at rivers like Murti, Jaldhaka, Torsh etc. covered with grasslands
which nourishes a wild spectrum wildlife.

The forests of Jaldhaka are home to many rare and endangered species of mammals and
birds. The Indian one Horned Rhinoceros is found in both Gorumara National Park. Near extinct
species like the Hispid Hare and Pygmy Hog have been reported from the Gourmara National
Park.

Bengal Florican and endangered bird had been Photographed in Gorumara National Park.
Apart from this species like Tiger, Leppard, Asian Elephant Gaur, Wild Bear, Sambar, Cheetal,
Hog Deer, Barking Deer are also found in the various forest’s tracts of Jalpaiguri.

ভারতী়ে এক ডশংযু ক্ত গণ্ডার পাও়ো যা়ে। জগৌরমারা নযাশনাল পাকণ জেশক ডহডিড জহ়োর এবং ডপগডম হশগর মশতা
ডবলু প্তপ্রা়ে প্রজাডতর িবর পাও়ো জগশছ।

জগারুমারা জাতী়ে উেযাশন জবঙ্গল জলাডরকান এবং ডবপন্ন পাডির ছডব জতালা হশ়েডছল। এই প্রজাডত ছা়িাও বাঘ,
জলপাডণ, এডশ়োন এডলফ্যান্ট জগৌ়ি, বনয ভাল্লু ক, োম্বার, ডচতাল, হগ হডরণ, বাডকণং ডড়োরও জলপাইগুড়ির ডবডভন্ন বনাঞ্চশল
পাও়ো যা়ে।
