This document provides information on removable insulation jackets for hot applications from Natraj Insulation. It describes the materials used in the jackets, including silicone fiberglass composite jacketing rated to 450°F. It provides a table of jacket material selections based on operating temperature and location. For dry locations, it lists appropriate jacket, thread, and insulation materials for temperatures up to 175°C, 220°C, and 450°C. The jackets are sewn with specified thread and fastened with velcro, straps or lacing hooks depending on the temperature. Components that can be jacketed include valves, strainers, steam traps and more.

1. Sewn with lock stitch. Jackets is sewn using specified thread.
2. Jackets is fastened using a combination of hook and loop (Velcro), straps, or SS Lacing Hook depending on application temperature. 3. The insulation is designed to minimize the convection current in the space between the hot metal surface and the inner layer of insulation. 4. All jacket pieces which match mating seams include an extended flap constructed from the exterior fabric (or equivalent) and is secured using hook & loop closure parallel to the seam or straps and/or SS Lacing Hook depending on application temperature.
