FALLACY IDENTIFICATION AND ANALYSIS
FALLACIOUS STATEMENT
1. “Societal issues influence the life scientists’ prioritization
of problems to resolve and aspects to carry out.”
2. “The author argue that this endeavor must truly be
uncovered since this was also the undergraduate
research of the current president of the United States of
America, Joseph Robinette ‘Joe’ Biden, Jr.”
3. “This research also proves to the research community
across the globe that Americans are superior in
producing knowledge than the researchers-scientists
from Asia, particularly the island- grabbing Chinese, who
are preoccupied on surviving their third world country
hell-loops.”
4. “As a worldwide reader of this brilliant research, the
author contends that you will surely agree because you
are too intelligent to disagree.”
WHY IS IT CONSIDERED AS A/AN __________ TYPE OF
TYPE OF FALLACY
FALLACY?
It is considered as a Non-Sequitur Fallacy because its premise
and conclusion have no connection to each other. Based on the
Non-Sequitur Fallacy statement that saying two arguments there are topics but I
noticed there are no literal connections that support each other.
It is considered as an Ad Verecundiam Fallacy because it
shows an appeal to authority because there’s a popular person
involved. It mentioned the president of the United States.
Ad Verecundiam Fallacy
It is considered as an Ad Populum Fallacy because if the
statement is being agreed for most of the people like the given
statement, we have no choice to believe it too. It involves the
Ad Populum Fallacy public and community since in the statement they mentioned
nationalities.
It is considered a Hasty Generalization Fallacy because based
on the statement the author claims that the reader or the
Hasty Generalization Fallacy audience already agreed even though there’s no concrete
evidences that the people agree. The author just assumes a
scenario.
5. “Either the readers will concur with what this research
will say or they will have an intelligence quotient similar
to a zooplankton.”
6. “This paper will utilize a minimalist (but aesthetic)
research design, specifically the templates from Canva
— Just believe it because you do not have access to the
researcher’s account.”
It is considered as an Ad Hominem Fallacy because it's
attacking a person by being said that if the reader will not accept
Ad Hominem Fallacy it, their minds are kind of similar to a zooplankton. Zooplankton
is an animal from the sea.
It is considered as an Ad Ignorantiam Fallacy because in the
statement saying something that cannot be proven false
Ad Ignorantiam Fallacy because the person did not experience going to that website
which is the Canva. The author grabs the opportunity to take an
advantage since the person has no background about the
website.
