The various areas and rooms within a museum that serve different purposes are referred to as spaces within a museum.
Exhibit halls, galleries, theaters, classrooms, offices, storage areas, and commercial spaces are examples of these types of
spaces. In the initial sketch layout (See figure 1&2) there is a desegnated commercial space near to the main entrance
located in the lobby of the museum.
Commercial spaces in a museum are areas within the museum that are used for commercial purposes. These spaces can be
used for a variety of purposes, including retail sales, food and beverage service, and event rental.
The use of commercial spaces in museums can generate additional revenue for the museum, assisting in the support of
operations and the preservation of collections. A museum gift shop, for example, may sell items related to the museum's
exhibits, such as books, souvenirs, and merchandise. This allows visitors to take a piece of the museum experience home
with them while also producing additional revenue for the museum.
Overall, commercial spaces within museums contribute significantly to the financial sustainability of museums while also
providing a variety of services and amenities to visitors.
