How can savings on an unprecedent-

ed scale be achieved? There‘s only
one way: by going off the beaten
track and blazing a whole new trail.
The EvoLite packer has dared to do
precisely that – and is now producing
packs that are completely different
from what used to be found in the
beverage sector.
The LitePac pack dispenses with film
entirely and consists just of two nar-
row strips – one goes round the con-
tainer, while the other serves as a
carrying handle. It‘s a simple yet
effective method that requires up to
75 per cent less material than a shrink
pack. That‘s an impressive figure, but
the energy efficiency figure is better
still: because without a shrink film,
the combination of EvoLite and
LitePac doesn‘t need a shrinking tun-
nel either. And that brings a sensa-
tional reward in the form of energy
savings of up to 90 per cent.

LitePac – what’s that?

To produce a LitePac pack, up to six

containers are arranged in rows of
two and strapped with a narrow strip
of PET. A second strap, which is some-
what wider, serves as a carrying han-
dle.
To allow the pack to be opened easily,
the strapping band has a tear-off tab.
It only needs a quick pull with the
finger – and the LitePac gives up its
contents. And the clever thing about
this? The strapping does not come
apart on opening. Instead, it is just
loosened a bit so that one or more
bottles can be easily removed. The
pack itself remains intact and sta-
ble, and it can still be carried around
even after one of the bottles has been
removed.
LitePac consists of two straps: one is
wrapped around the bottles and the
other is used to carry the pack.
What containers can go in the
LitePac?

The containers run continuously into
the feed module, where they are
divided into aisles and then grouped
and arranged according to the sub-
sequent pack form. Packing is done
in the downstream strapping modu-
le: the strapping unit descends onto
the container group and then moves
synchronously with it through the
machine while at the same time pro-
ducing a LitePac. The strapping band
and carrying strap are attached in
parallel in one operation. The strap-
ping unit then returns to its starting
position.

Always on the move

To ensure a high output, EvoLite
works according to an innova-
tive principle. Unlike what hap-
pens in traditional strappers,
the containers run through the
machine at a constant flow
rate. The strapping unit moves
along with them – and simply
does the packing while on the

■■ Minimal material and energy
requirement
The packaging of the LitePac
pack consists simply of two nar-
row straps, removing the need for
energy-intensive shrinking.
LitePac packs save up to 65 per
cent of the material costs com-
pared with shrink packs – and as
much as 90 per cent of the energy
consumption.
■■ Lower logistics costs
In the LitePac, containers can also
be arranged in slightly offset rows
of two. In this formation up to 20
per cent more packs – depending
on the container diameter – can
be fitted on a pallet than with tra-
ditional packaging. That means
the LitePac has its nose well ahead
when it comes to storage and
transport as well.
■■ User-friendly packaging
All that is needed to open the
pack is a single quick action: just
pull on the tear-off tab – done.
And because this only loosens the
strapping rather than pulling it
apart completely, the pack can still
be carried easily even with one
bottle less.
■■ Environmentally-friendly
packaging
The LitePac allows you and your
customers to make a simple but
effective contribution to pro-
tecting the environment. That‘s
because the strapping bands pro-
duce up to 75 per cent less rub-
bish than shrink packs when dis-
posed of.

The EvoLite consists of just two
space-saving modules. In contrast
to a shrink pack line, it does not
need a separate handle applica-
tor or a shrink tunnel or a convey-
or lane to get all items out of the
tunnel if a fault occurs. And the
compact size of the machine real-
ly comes to the fore in the EvoLite
block, because the block covers the
entire dry section, enabling group-
ing, packaging and palletising over
a distance of 25 to 30 metres.
■■ Ergonomic design
Large sliding doors ensure conven-
ient access to the machine on both
long sides. The strap magazine is
arranged beside the machine for
easy access. The strap reels just
need to be changed once a shift –
they can be replaced in a few quick
steps without the need for tools of
any kind.
