Module 3 – New Testament Survey

The aim of this module is to orient the student in the world and background of each of the NT
books by a survey of the history, geography, socio-cultural background, content and themes of
the NT generally and of each of the NT documents specifically.

Classes

5. The Fourth Gospel – Joey Harris [1 hour]
6. Paul: Apostle to the Gentiles – Tyrone Marcus [1 hour]

Saturday – 2 – 5 pm
7. Paul’s Letters to Churches – Joey Harris [1 hour]

In advance of class each Full-Track student will be required to:

1. Merrill Tenney, New Testament Survey (Grand Rapids: Eerdmans, 1985).

2. Read the entire N.T. (at least once in your Christian life)

3. Douglas Jacoby, A Quick Overview of the Bible (Eugene, Oregon: Harvest House, 2012). –
Chapters 1-3 & 16-23

Examination & Assessment (For Full-Track Students)

Participants must complete the required reading and attend or view the video recording for
each of the classes in order to pass the course. Additionally students will be assessed on the
following basis.

 Short Essay (1000-1200 words)– 40%


 MCQ Test – 60 questions – 60%
 Extra Credit – 2% for each recommended reading text completed during the course
(up to a maximum of 10%)
