I follow all the state laws, school/district codes and do everything that is expected
of me, as per my contract. I don’t think that I am integrating or innovating on this
front simply because I have not signed up for “Career Ladder,” which is taking on
more responsibility and joining committees and such. I have not signed up to be
PLC lead or Co-lead. Finally, I have not signed up to mentor or supervise any of
the new teachers.
I believe this goes back to managing my professional responsibilities. I know that
I am new to teaching and want to make sure that I am 100% comfortable and
adaptable in my teaching before I take on extra work. I know that I must clear my
credential which is taking time away from my professional responsibilities or my
home life. Also, as a father of an 18-month-old, I want to make sure I have a
healthy work life balance so I can recharge with my family before I must go back
to work. I see the innovating side of this question as going above and beyond in
your school and I don’t think I am ready for that. I personally believe that I go
above and beyond for my students. But, maybe once my credential is cleared and I
have more than 1 full year of teaching under my belt I will be more willing to
explore the higher standards of this development. 9/23/2021
Integrating Innovating
This year a colleague and I have started a group at our
school that is helping teachers find induction
programs, get information on schools, and help them
see how our nontraditional online school can fit in
some of the traditional brick and mortar induction
program assignments.
It has helped both of us maintain a high standard of
integrity and commitment not just to our jobs but now
the people who look to us for answers.
I am happy to help contribute to this small community
of people looking to get out of their preliminary
credentials.
By doing this we hope that we are fostering school
culture.

I'm currently working with my supervisor who is also
the assistant principal, to get ready to apply for a
supervisory position. By working with him, hosting
training and supporting staff where I can in the
different committees that I am a part of I believe that I
am demonstrating responsibility integrity and ethical
conduct.
