ASSIGNMENT #4

Reminders:
a. Submit your answers through my email (charlesgorit.spc@gmail.com)

b. Follow the format upon sending your activity sheets.

1. Why do you think were most intellectual ideas controversial?

✓ I think most intellectual ideas were controversial because of the factual

evidence. Sophisticated people will not be convinced of claims of such
theories, it must be preceded in proper way of processing or in other
words, trial and error.

2. Why did the people accept these new discoveries despite being contradictory to
what was widely accepted at that time

✓ Science is a criterion of evidence, societies accept new discoveries based

on the factual evidence given. Just like the ongoing battle between
Science and Religion, the difference between them is Science proposes
its theory in a mathematical way or uses empirical data to prove its
prediction. On the other hand, Religion proposed its theory in a narrative
story, and the story can be fiction or can be twisted by words to appear
true. In my opinion, both have their own flaws but one thing that is always
below the water is Science, it has no dogma or beliefs, it provides
evidence to prove its point.

3. How do intellectual revolutions transform societies?

✓ Intellectual revolutions transform societies by helping people give

knowledge and wisdom. It can affect literature, as such the word Art.
Societies will express their ideas, emotions, and experiences and value
their lives with such knowledge and wisdom.
