INTRODUCTION

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak that has ravaged the entire country since 2020,
hotel Industry is also one of the industries that are affected. It became a challenge for the hotel
industry to operate as usual. To avoid the spreading of COVID-19, a new set of hotel Standard
Operating Procedure (SOP) are implemented, and several new restrictions must be strictly
followed by the hotel industry. The reasons of that are to ensure the hotel Industry keeps
operating even during the pandemic (2020) and endemic (2021).

The most important aspect that needs to care in the hotel during the COVID-19 outbreak is
cleanliness and safety. By that, a new procedure has been introduced. Such as the new Standard
Operation Procedure (SOP) of room cleaning. The purpose of the new Standard Operating
Procedure (SOP) is to ensure the cleanliness of the hotel, the safety of the employees, and the
health of the guests. As a result, the Housekeeping Department which is responsible for carrying
out all cleaning tasks in the hotel must follow strictly and ensure the tasks are done in accordance
with the new standards Operating Procedures (SOP).
