Dear Grandma and Grandpa,

You remember that I was looking for a flat to rent? Well, I think I’ve
found the perfect accommodation, not far away from my new job. It’s
going to be strange now that I’ve graduated and won’t be living the life of
a student anymore. I’ll be living on my own and going into an office
every day. It makes me feel quite grown up.

It will be good to be independent, although I think I’ll miss my flatmates.

I was thinking about sharing again but then I changed my mind – it will
be nice to have my own bathroom and not have to worry about whose
turn it is to do the washing up and housework. And as you know, I’m not
as tidy as I should be! And that can cause a few problems from time to
time.

Well, let me tell you about the flat because I’m quite excited about it. It’s
in a lovely quiet residential area with lots of green open spaces all
around. There’s a big supermarket about five minutes’ walk away so I
won’t even have to drive to go shopping. In fact, I probably won’t use my
car very much at all. There’s a bus stop just around the corner from my
street.

The flat itself is quite small. It’s on the sixth floor of a modern block so it
has an impressive view. And I even have a little balcony that opens from
the living room. There’s only one bedroom because I can’t really afford a
two-bedroom place, and there’s a cool L-shaped modern kitchen. I might
even learn to cook one day and invite you all for dinner!

Anyway, I have to go now as I must get on with my packing!

Looking forward to seeing you in the summer.

Lots of love
Patricia
