1. Scope: This specification covers the technical requirement of blast grade garnet
used for surface preparation for paint application on railway stainless Steel
passenger coaches.

2. Technical requirements: The garnet supplied should meet the technical

requireillent under this clause.

3. Work Test Certificate (WTC): Tenderer / supplier shall have to submit test
certificate for the test at clause 2.1 to 2.5 from any of reputed mineral testing
Laboratory which includes Geological Survey of India at the time of finalization of "
tender & pilot sample approval failing which their offer shall not be considered.

4. Pilot sample approval: The Supplier has to submit 02 Kg of garnet sample for
approval by COM/RCF prior to bulk supply alongwith WTC as mentioned in
Clause 3.0.The bulk supply and pilot sample qualitatively should be same.

5, Supplier has to supply five nos. of lumps of garnet sample of size one sq. inch
(1 "x 1") approx. for testing of Moh hardness, specific gravity & colour alongwith
each supplies/ pilot samples .. '

6. Packing: 20~25 Kg packing in HOPE bags.
