OBJECTIVES

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is a humanitarian organization


that works to provide assistance and protection to people affected by armed conflict
and other situations of violence. The ICRC has a number of objectives that guide its
work, including:

1. Protecting the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations

independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality. These principles guide
the ICRC’s work and help to ensure that the organization is able to provide
assistance and protection to those in need without discrimination.

FUNCTIONS
