To our PSDS, Ma`am Rohayda Y. Ubpon, honorable guest speaker, Mr.

Jun Junel
A. Danao, our dearest principal, Ma`am Ellin T. Vicera, to our assistant principal,
Ma`am Gemma E. Roldan, teachers and staff of Colon National High School,
parents, fellow completers, friends, ladies and gentlemen, good morning.
“To dream is to live, and to pursue it is to keep on living,” a quote from one of the
books I read written by Jonah Mae Paccala.
Two years ago, I never thought that half of my high school life would be taken
away because of the pandemic that we are facing today. I always imagined my
self going to school, hugging my friends and buying our favorite food at the
canteen. But in a snap of a finger, everything changed. Lockdowns, travel
restrictions, and many protocols were implemented, and we are not even allowed
to continue our studies. But inspite every serious predicament, there is always a
solution. The Department of Education found a way to continue our studies, they
introduced us to a new way of learning and led us to the right path. Despite the
hurdles and challenges that we encountered in our modular learning like chasing
deadlines and balancing of our responsibilities at home, we persevere and did not
give up.
Now, here we are, celebrating our Moving Up Ceremony with the theme:
Pursuing dreams and fostering resilience in the face of adversity. The theme we
have today shows a lot about our courage to fight and pursue our dreams and
with that, I am proud to say that we are now one step closer towards our goals.
I want to grab this opportunity to utter my words of thanks and appreciation to all
the people who helped me all through out my journey. First and foremost, I
would like to thank our Almighty Father for giving me this opportunity to speak
today. Thank you, God, for the blessings that we received. Thankyou for
protecting us and guiding us that we are able to stand here as graduates of Colon
National High School. We dedicate all these things to you Lord.
I also want to thank my parents for their undying support financially and morally.
Thank you Ma, Pa, for always being there for me, for raising me and guiding me to
be the person that I am today. For believing in me, and for doing your very best to
provide for our needs. Ma, Pa I want you to know that I appreciate all the things
that you did for us. I love you both and I am very proud to have you as my
parents.
To my best friends, my high school life would never be the same without you
guys. Thank you for the memories and friendship. I will surely miss all of our
escapades together. Thank you for helping me grow as a person. You guys are the
best. We maybe go on our separate ways in life, but I guess that`s a part of
growing up and I am sure that we will meet each other at the finish line.
To my co-completers, thank you for doing your very best, for not giving up and for
putting a very good fight. I am very proud of every one of you. I know it was never
easy. There are times when we think about giving up everything, but I am glad we
didn’t. Now, here we are, celebrating another milestone of our lives and going
one step closer towards our dreams.
Also, to all the people who made this wonderful occasion possible. To all our
hardworking and supportive teachers of Colon National High School, who
fearlessly and selflessly gave their all so that we will be able to reach this
milestone of our studies. Although the modular system was difficult for us
students, your passionate efforts inspired us to cope up and carry on. So dear
teachers, thank you from the bottom of my heart. We are now moving up
because you earnestly taught us and helped us through the process.
As we are about to close another chapter of our lives, a new will begin. So this is
not good bye, thus it is a new beginning. My co-completers, may we keep our
hearts burning with passion as we continue our journey until all of our goals will
come to reality. Let`s continue chasing our dreams, completers of batch 2021-
2022. Soar high and stand tall. Thank you and once again good morning.
