2023 General Election in Nigeria: Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the labor party
has stepped down in favor of Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the People’s
Democratic Party (PDP).

The upcoming election in Nigeria is a chance for the people of Nigeria to choose a new leader. It
is an opportunity for the citizens of Nigeria to make their voices heard and to have their say in
the future of their nation. I am confident that the people of Nigeria will make the right choice and
will choose a leader who will continue to move the nation forward.

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the labor party has stepped down in favor of Atiku
Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). This
announcement comes barely 24 hours before the 2023 general election in Nigeria.

The news of Obi’s decision has became a major step forward in the Nigerian political landscape,
as it signals a willingness to put the country’s interests ahead of personal ambition. This move is
also seen as a sign of unity and collaboration between the two major political parties in the
country. The resignation of Obi is a testament to the power of collaboration and compromise in
the Nigerian political system. It is a sign that the country is ready to move forward, and that the
people of Nigeria are willing to put their differences aside and work together for the betterment
of the nation. We applaud Peter Obi for his decision to step down and look forward to a
prosperous and peaceful future for Nigeria.

In my interview with some electorates on the recent development, people express their divergent
views. Salisu Usman, disclosed that, “In my opinion, Peter Obi’s decision to step down in favor
of Atiku Abubakar is an admirable one. It shows that Obi is a man of integrity and that he is
willing to put the interests of the nation ahead of his own. His decision is a sign of his
commitment to the PDP and his dedication to the people of Nigeria. It is a decision that should
be praised and appreciated by all”.

Another interviewee, Adamu Muhammad, says that “. The decision to step down was not an
easy one for Obi, but it was a necessary one. It is clear that Obi is a man of principle and that he
is willing to put the interests of the nation ahead of his own. His decision to step down in favor
of Abubakar is a testament to his commitment to the people of Nigeria and the PDP.

In contrast, Habu Salisu, is of the opinion that “This is nothing but calculated political hypocrisy
and this will not allow them to return to power and destroy our country.”
Another interviewee also revealed his opinion on the matter and says that “ This step down of Mr
Peter Obe to Atiku Abubakar didn’t surprise me because I forcask that this might happened since
he knows that he will not win the election, therefore, the only option he has is to step down and
form a government.
