Course Objectives:

 To develop concept of Gymnastics and track and field.


 To analyze & interpret skills of Gymnastics & Track and Field
 To appraise the rule & regulation of the game.

Course Contents/Syllabus:

Descriptors/Topics
Introduction of various kinds of gymnastics, Types of competitions at national and international level, Introduction of Code of points.

Broad Jump, Various techniques used in Broad Jump and measuring of run way.

Module II 20%
Descriptors/Topics

Measurement of apparatus- Uneven bars, Horizontal bar, Roman rings, pommel horse,

Hop–Step and Jump (Triple Jump), Approach run, take off and landing for hop, step and jump, flying phase and landing
Module III 20%
Descriptors/Topics

Fundamental skill of floor exercises, Men: Back roll to handstand, diving roll, handspring, combination of forward and back roll, Women:
Diving roll, round off, combination of forward roll and back roll, leap and scissor jumps.

Shot- Put, Technique- Glide (Preparation, Glide and the Put

Fundamental skill of vaulting table:, Men: Straddle vault, handspring, Women: Straddle vault, handspring.

Fundamental skill on horizontal bar and uneven bars:, Men: Swing on Horizontal Bars. Back up rise on Horizontal Bars, Women: Different type
of grip. Back turn over lower bar. One leg forward circle on LB. Moving from Lower Bar to Upper Bar , One leg forward circle on Horizontal
Bars. Dismount from Horizontal Bar

Markings, Marking Broad Jump and Triple jump field, marking shot put sector

 label apparatus of gymnast
 Demonstrate fundamental and combination skills of gymnastics.
 Demonstrate various techniques of broad jump, triple jump, shot put.
 To assess the skills of Gymnastics & Track and Field
