Critical Analysis
 A meaningful policy starts with a sound concept and is based on
recognition of the problem
 A national debate has yet to occur in Pakistan
 The role of religious leadership must be reevaluated
 Altering reproductive behavior

12
Conclusion
 Pakistan is having lower contraceptive prevalence Rate and higher
annual population growth rate
 The population growth strategies has remained largely ineffective
• lack of comprehensive population control strategies
• lack of will on the part of political leadership
• staunch opposition by the religious leaders
• lack of awareness about the importance of Family Planning
 Pakistan needs to implement the population control strategies in
letter and spirit

13
Way Forward

Reduction in demand for large size families

Greater investment in adolescents

Two Children Per Family Policy & Positive role of religious leaders
