Beaver in America
Beaver in America
In the Northern Hemisphere, beavers are big, semiaquatic rodents. Both the North American and Eurasian
beaver species are still alive today. Both have sturdy bodies, big heads, teeth that resemble chisels, front feet
that resemble hands, hind feet that are webbed, and flat, scaly tails. A longer cranium, lighter hue, and narrower
tail are characteristics of the Eurasian beaver. Both species are herbivorous, devouring plants and tree bark, and
they can be found in freshwater settings. Tree branches, plants, rocks, and mud are used to construct lodges and
dams. On the environment around them, their infrastructure has a significant impact. Couples of adults and their
children cohabit in monogamy. The scent-marking castoreum fluid used by beavers to mark their territory. For
their fur, flesh, and castoreum in the past, beavers were hunted.
