*Call to Worship
Dawn breaks. Light out of darkness. Life out of death.
Christ is risen! Christ is risen indeed! Alleluia!
Hope replaces doubt. Faith overcomes fear. Love transforms hate.
Christ is risen! Christ is risen indeed! Alleluia!
The light shines in the darkness. The darkness has not, will not, overcome it.

(Hymn 327, stanza 3)
Eternal are thy mercies, Lord; eternal truth attends thy word:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Thy praise shall sound from shore to shore,
till suns shall rise and set no more.
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Announcements
Now let the heavens be joyful, let earth her song begin! The round world
keep high triumph, and all that is therein. He is risen, Christ the Lord is
risen, our joy, that hath no end. From death to life eternal from earth on to
the sky, our Christ hath brought us over with hymns of victory. He is risen,
Christ the Lord is risen, our joy, that hath no end. Let all things seen and
unseen, their notes of gladness blend. For Christ the Lord is risen, our joy,
that hath no end. He is risen, Christ the Lord is risen, our joy, that hath no
end. Amen.
(John of Damascus, ca. 750, Tr. John Mason
Neale)

Invitation to Offering A Hymn of Resurrection Gwyneth Walker
The roots of this English text come from a mid-8th century Greek hymn that continues to be used in
Orthodox churches at the midnight Eucharist marking the beginning of Easter. The tune is named for the
county in northwestern England where the composer was then an organist.

eternal life He gives, with grace and healing in His hand. I know His (this tune in a lower key, 269)
promise of rebirth, the Word He speaks can never die. Though death shall
take my body from the earth, yet I shall see Him by and by. I know my
pathway He prepares for where He is, there I shall be. Abiding faith, for me
He cares, and He at last will come for me! I know eternal life He gives. I
know the grace and healing in His hand. I know that my Redeemer lives!
For on the earth, He has come again! My Savior lives again!
