Phonics ee - Mabel had us busy working with Snap Words this week! We played the games Read It!, Write It!, Memory, and Guess My Word, The best part? We played these fun games with partners! Then, Mabel brought us 4 new Snap Words! She brought us all, ball, had, and will. We added these to our Word Pouches. Your child brought a list home of all the words we have currently learned. Keep practicing at home! Reader's Werkshep, eee - We gained EXTRA STRENGTH Reread Power this week! When. we are reading and we stop to decode a word, itis always best to go back and reread the sentence to make our reading sound smooth and to make sure we are understanding what we are reading. | have noticed how strong our readers are in our reading groups with this important strategy. | hope you see your child using this strategy at home as he reads to you! We aren't magicians, but we can use our words to change things and persuade others! We read many books which shared opinions. We read Too Many Toys, and Hey Little Ant. After reading each of these books, we discussed how the character was persuasive and gave reasons to change the opinion of others, We discovered we could make a poster, make a list, or write a letter to give to someone to change their opinion and persuade them to share our opinion! We loved writing these together as a class and learning about our new unit, Persuasive Writing! Writers Write to Make the World Better! Where would you hop if you were a bunny?
