Speech Assignment #2 Outline 

1. Topic: How to do Yoga

2. General Purpose: To Inform

3. Specific Purpose: To inform my audience about how to do yoga exercise.

4. Thesis Statement: This is the proper way to start off a yoga exercises for a beginner.

Yoga Exercise

Introduction 

I. The materials that are need to start off a yoga exercise are:

a. A yoga DVDs are the best way to start off for a beginner.

b. Yoga mat that help provide a padding surface to practice on.

c. Yoga props such as yoga blocks, yoga strap, bolster or blanket to help stabilize

standing poses.

d. A yoga music CDs to help relax, focus and soothe.

e. Yoga clothing can be loose clothing or stretchable clothing.

f. A water bottle or a glass of water.

 (Transition: I am going to show the steps on how a beginner can start off in yoga).

Body 

I. Starting off the Yoga Exercise for a beginner

a. Step 1: Choose a place to put the yoga mat preferable near the T.V.

b. Step 2: Put the yoga music on the T.V. and place the water near the yoga mat.

c. Step 3: Sit on the yoga mat and practice taking a deep breath.

(Transition: Now knowing how to start off yoga exercises, let’s look at the different exercises

that a beginner can start with).

II. These a several yoga exercise for beginners

a. Step 4: The first exercise is the mountain pose by standing tall with your arms

above your head for 60 seconds.

b. Step 5: Another exercise is the cow pose by get on your hands and knees and look

straight ahead for 60 seconds.

c. Step 6: The last exercise is the cobra pose by lie on your stomach and raise your

upper body for 60 seconds.

(Transition: From knowing these different exercises, I’m sure you would be wondering what to

do after the yoga exercises).

III.  After the yoga exercises.

a. Step 7: When you are done with the exercise get a drink of water to stay hydrated.

b. Step 8: Bring the yoga props that are needed to help you in the yoga exercises and

put on the yoga CD into the T.V. to start.

(Connective/Transition: By doing yoga exercises everyday will help you with mental illness and

explore your limits).

Conclusion 

I. What has been shown it is very easy for people to get into yoga.

II. But there are several exercises that people can do in their own living room.

III. Now knowing the steps to take to do yoga you can start this when you go back home or

to your dorms on campus.
