FACTORS INFLUENCING TOURISTS’ DESTINATION TRUST AND TRAVEL INTENTION TO

AGUINALDO SHRINE IN KAWIT, CAVITE

AIM: To identify the factors that influence tourists' trust in the destination and their intention to
visit the Aguinaldo Shrine.
SCOPE: Limited to the factors that influence tourists' trust and intention to visit the Aguinaldo
Shrine in Kawit, Cavite.
DESTINATION TRUST – refers to the level of confidence that a tourist has in the safety,
reliability, and quality of a destination they are considering traveling to.
TRAVEL INTENTION – refers to the likelihood or willingness of a tourist to visit a particular
destination.
RESPONDENTS: Would be tourists who have visited or have the intention to visit the Aguinaldo
Shrine in Kawit, Cavite, Philippines (either visited the shrine in the past or plan to do so in the
future.)

FACTORS:

 SAFETY AND SECURITY – meaning tourists need to feel safe and secure when visiting
historical sites, and they need to be confident that their belongings and personal safety
are not at risk.
 CLEANLINESS – availability of trash bins, the frequency of cleaning, and the presence
of pests like insects and rodents.
 AUTHENTICITY – the degree to which a historical site accurately represents its history
and culture (e.g. accuracy of interpretive displays and signage, and the availability of
knowledgeable guides.)
 INFORMATION AVAILABILITY - accurate and up-to-date information about historical
sites, including opening hours, admission fees, and historical context.
 LOCAL CULTURE AND HOSPITALITY - friendliness of local people, the availability of
cultural events and activities, and the quality of local food and drink.

INDEPENDENT VARIABLE (ng title): Factors that influence the tourists’ destination trust (being
manipulated/controlled to see the effect sa dependent variable | cause)

DEPENDENT VARIABLE: Travel intention (outcome/effect)

** Research on factors influencing tourists' destination trust and travel intention is important
because it can help tourism stakeholders and other industries to better understand consumer
behavior and develop strategies to enhance destination appeal and reputation.
