ACTIVITY 1
1. Research and explain how fairness or justice develop during the time of Rizal.
 Fairness or justice developed in the days of Rizal, who saw how the Spaniards mistreated
Filipinos. He experienced it directly when his mother was accidentally imprisoned. Through his
writings, he sought their freedom from the Filipinos and enlightened them to fight for their faith,

 “Fair” or “just” was understood as freedom in the time of Rizal. At that time, Filipinos believed

other hand, "unfair" or “unjust" in the days of Rizal was understood as trampled freedom because
Filipinos were trapped in their numbers and colonists ruled their lives.

3. Trace and explain the root cause of lack of discipline among Filipinos. Explain your answer
 Filipinos before Spanish colonization are productive as they were good in agriculture production,
weaving trading and many more according to writers such as Morgan, Colin, and Gaspar de San
Agustin. The root cause of lack of self-discipline among Filipinos are the abused of Spanish
colonizers who made our ancestors force to work, the encomienderos abused their power by
slaving our ancestors. They were the reason why Filipinos change from being productive to
becoming passive, they prefer to live in poverty than be persecuted by the colonizers. Apart from
it, the colonizers demand huge taxes that the Filipinos chose to stop working and do the easy
money means – gambling. This scenario for more than three centuries was brought even up to this
time. What the Spanish had taught had ingested the spirit of each Filipino and this was pass by
generation, that resulted to lack of discipline of some Filipino.

4. Observe your surroundings and give actual example of unfairness.

 "Unfairness" refers to the fact that people who cannot afford health care do not receive the
same treatment as those who can. Poor people often have limited access to medicines and
other hospital services, and they must wait longer for treatment.

ACTIVITY 3
1. Define discipline in your own point of view, explain and expand your answer by giving some
examples.
Discipline is derived from the Latin word “Discipulus” which means to learn. It is the same root from
which the word disciple is taken. Literally, discipline is a mode of life in accordance with certain rules
and regulations. It is a sort of self-control reflected in public actions. This control is not forced upon the
individual. It flows out from within. Hence, discipline is spontaneous and not a mere submission to
authority in an obedient manner. The term ‘discipline’ refers to a state of orderly conduct of an individual
which is gained through training in self-control and in habits of obedience to socially approved standards
of thought and action. It implies a good understanding of right conduct. The formation of desirable habits
and attitudes and an adherence to such standards are just and necessary. It includes the socialization of
behavior, the manner of working and living in co-operation and the subordination of individual interests
to group interests. True discipline therefore provides for both individual and group welfare in a
democratic society.

2. Differentiate the term “faith and “Fate

These two concepts are remarkably similar, yet there is a bit of difference between the two. Are these
concepts or moral mantras? The word “faith,” implies hope, loyalty, and a belief system which has no
proof. “Fate,” on the other hand, implies resignation — a belief that things are predestined before time
existed, and that this simply falls into one’s destiny. This paper will delve into the question between fate
and faith; how can these words co-exist, yet be completely different entities? Fate can be renamed as
predestination, fatalism, or resignation, which all denotes man’s inability to do anything that, would
change his course in life. Believers in “fate” feel that God has ordained a specific thing to happen, and it
is going to happen. We cannot opt for anything else to happen since there is only one outcome available.
This essence of fatalism is that the will can make no difference in the outcome. (Collier’s Encyclopedia
608) We are domed to follow whatever is happening in our lives as if we were forever stuck on a merry-
go-round. Faith is the ability to believe in something that is a concept, but you may not be able to se it or
touch it. I have faith, when making a telephone call that this process will result in a positive experience.
I cannot actually see the wires, signaling the one that I have phoned, but I still believe that it will happen

successfully. I also have faith that when I sit down in a chair, it will not collapse or fall apart. This faith
is based upon the many successes that I have had and trust in the worthiness of my steadfast belief.

3. Suggest specific activities or programs that could restore the Filipinos pride that could counteract
feelings of hopefulness and pessimism among young and old Filipino Citizens.

ACTIVITY 4
pinakapundasyon kaya patuloy natin itong pinagaralan.

2. As so called Millennials or young ones of this generation do you still need to learn this subject?Explain
It is of great importance that students understand and learn the rationale behind having to take up a Rizal
course in college. For high school students, the Noli Me Tangere and the El Filibusterismo reinvested into
the Filipino subject as part of the overall curriculum. In tertiary Education, however, Rizal is a subject
required of a Course, in a College or university in the Philippines. We still need to learn because It is
important to study Rizal’s life and his writings including other heroes because the contribution they give
to the country is priceless. We the youth know only the little background of their lives and works and we
are already moved, what about if we dig deeper into this? Of course we will learn many lessons and
inspirations with their works. He love they give for the country so as a millennials we still need to learn it.
