What is Sydney Opera House by Jorn Utzon and the design, construction and completion of it?

The Sydney opera house, completed in 1973, was located in Sydney, New South Wales,
Australia. It was designed by Danish architect Jorn Utzon and completed by an Austrian
architectural team led by Peter Hall. Jorn Utzon was best known for his problematic, dynamic
and imaginative design for the Sydney Opera House. In 1957, it became the winner of an
international design competition. For the historical ( 1879 - 1900), Sydney Opera House on the
bennelong point the city of austria, had several entertainment venues that it describes as an
opera house.

In terms of the design, Sydney Opera house has become a highly tendentious project
which recognises Australia and commonly referred to as shell. The design of Sydney Opera
House is modern architectural design, with a sequence of large precast concrete panels and
supported by precast concrete ribs. The cover of the roof is a subtle chevron pattern with
1,056,006 glossy white and matte cream coloured, and also they used Swedish made tiles that
comes from Hoganas AB, a factory that generally manufactures stoneware tiles etc. Apart from
the design of the shell, the exterior is predominantly clad with an aggregated panel which is
composed of pink granite quarried at Tarana.

For the construction of the Sydney Opera House, it was built in three stages. From the
stage I (1959- 1963) they worked first on the podium columns and rebuilt it until it became
sturdy to support the roof structure. Stage II (1963-1967) they started the construction of the
outer shells or the roof, which came from an undefined geometry structure and eventually
concluded it as a parabola series with can supported by precast concrete ribs. In the mid of
1961, they got the solution on their problem wherein the shell will be created as spherical
sections from a sphere, since there are no repetitions when it comes in roof forms. Besides,
they achieved the solution that they needed to avoid the need for expensive formwork
construction. And lastly, stage III ( 1967-1973) the interior. Since the design of Utzon is
impractical and expensive design, it was led by Peter Hall, who has a responsibility for the
interior design of Sydney opera house and other people that were appointed to replace Utzon
were E.H Farmers as government architect, D.S. Littlermore and Lionel Todd.

And lastly for the completion. The opera house was officially completed on 20 October 1973 and
is one of the substantial buildings of the 20th century. The opera house has a cost of $ 102
Million. The stage I: the podium Civil and Civic Pty Ltd have an approximate cost of $ 5.5
Million. The stage II: the roof shell M.R. Hornibrook ( NSW) Pty Ltd has an approximate cost of
$ 12.5 Million. And the last stage, stage III the interior with an approximate cost of $ 56.5 Million.
Set apart the stage's equipment, lighting and organ with a cost of $9.0 Million and also for the
fees and other costs $16.5 Million.
