Germs!

Here are some pictures of real germs, magnified so we can see what they look like. Just like people,
animals, and plants, germs look different depending on where they’ve come from and what kind of illness
they cause.

There are four major kinds of germs:


Bacteria Viruses
Some bacteria are good for you! They help your Viruses can only live when they invade something
body with all kinds of thing. But some bacteria are living (like people or animals). They spread diseases
not so good. They can cause infections like strep and many have no cure. Viruses cause chicken pox,
throat, cavities, ear infections, and pneumonia. measles, flu, and many other diseases.

Protozoa (pro-ti-zoh-uh) Fungi (fun-guy)


Protozoa are attracted to moisture and spread Fungi can live in all kinds of environments. Most are
disease through water. These are the germs that harmless, but some cause uncomfortable issues like
