GENERAL NOTES
1. Contractor to submit design calculations, fabrication drgs, bill of materials, material test certificates, welding book & NDT procedures, inspection & test plan for approval of Third Party Inspector
and Engineer prior to any procurement / construction.
2. Corrosion allowance is applicable for tank bottom plate, shell plate, nozzles, roof support structures & all appurtenances except Bottom sump and annular plate corrosion allowance shall be
3mm.
3. External painting(full surface painting) as per GP 19-01-01, System 1 Paint and Protective coating for onshore and offshore facilities, paint manufacturer’s instruction and equipment datasheet.
For internal painting(bottom plate and up first shell course)the coating shall be a 2 coat Epoxy with total min Dry Film Thickness (DFT) of 500 µm.
4. Geodesic Dome Roof with full contact heavy duty aluminium floating roof and foam dam. Floating deck details shall meet the requirement of API 650 Appendix H & NFPA 30. Shunting to be
provided for ensuring earthing of the floating deck.Minimum silicone sealing to be used on the Geodesic dome roof. Joint panel to be silicone free and the hub to have a cover. F1
5. Floating deck shall be provided with penetration seals or sleeve to minimize hydrocarbon emission. A mechanical shoe-type seal with pantograph hanger system is acceptable. Primary seal and
seal hanger to be stainless steel. Seal should be suitable for ULG95. The seal or the lightning shunts must not be allowed to rise to the roof support structure of the tank. Floating roof design
including seals and roof support structure shall take into consideration of a free board requirement above floating deck for emergency situations. Rafters / roof support structure to be arranged
such a way that the foam pourer nozzles can be accommodated within the same height.
6. Tank fabricator to provide internal floating roof with chain suspended. It shall be such as that a minimum 6 ft (2 m) clearance is provided underneath the internal floating roof and low position at
the lowest permitted by tank internals.
7. All dimension stated in datasheet are in milimetres
8. Tank fabricator to furnish and install venting for fixed roof and floating deck in accordance with the requirement of Appendix 'H' of API 650. All open vents to be provided with bird screen of
stainless steel 316 L wire mesh. F1
9. All internals & nozzles shall be as per API 650 unless otherwise specified.
10. Nozzle elevations (from bottom of bottom plate to centre line) for nozzles with piping connections to be as per Piping GA and that for other nozzles shall be as per column 8, Table 5-6 of API
650 and column 9 table 5-6 for draw off and stripping nozzles. Contractor to fill in the details and completed Data Sheet to be included in the As-Built dossier.
11. Size, type and rating of flanges / fittings on the nozzles for instruments, gauge hatch and foam pourers shall be to match with the corresponding approved item.
12. Tank fabricator to provide necessary stilling well(s) with seals through the floating roof and support it at bottom of tank.
13. Tank fabricator to provide minimum 7 Nos. of grounding pits. Grounding shall be as per GP 16 - 04 - 01 (Grounding and Overvoltage Protection).
14. Support brackets to be provided on the tank for mechanical level gauge and foam & deluge piping as applicable.
15. Tank fabricator to furnish and install scaffold support and 3 Nos. 2" NB conduit for instrument cable.
16. The accessories as identified in datasheet shall be supplied and installed.
17. All openings on floating deck to be properly sealed.
18. Anti rotation cables to be provided for floating deck.
19. Tank design shall also be comply with the requirements in GP 09 - 04 - 01 (Atmospheric Storage Tanks), GP 09 - 0 7- 04 (Internal Floating Roof for Atmospheric Storage Tanks) and GP 09 -
07 - 01 (Accessories for Atmospheric Storage Tanks).
20. Spiral stairway shall be double stringer type, design shall also be comply with the requirements in GP 09-04-01.
21. Site classification and other factors shall be determined based on API 650 and geotechnical report.
22. Annular plate shall be of same material as of first shell course.
23. If anchor bolt is required it shall also be galvanised.
24. All bolted joints shall be electrically shunted including gauge hatches.
25. Contractor shall provide necessary shell thickness / reinforcement pad to take care of nozzle loads provided by engineer.
26. When shell materials are of group IV or higher, nozzle pipes shall be of A 106 Gr. B, seamless.
27. If required for stability, intermediate girders, increased shell-plate thicknesses, or both shall be used.
28. Overfill protection as per API 2350.
28. Tank shall be designed for storing UL95 (See also Note 44).
29. Stair case, hand rails, steps and support brackets to be hot dip galvanised.
30. Level transmitter for high, high high and low level alarms.
31. 'VTA' - Tank Vendor to advise.
32. VTA internal floating roof landing level.
33. 7 nos of foam chamber with respective nozzle shall be provided.
34. Vendor to confirm size of ERV and vent nozzle.
35. Vendor to confirm the size base top pourer connection flange size
36. The internal floating roof shall be full contact type with foam dam for rim seal fire protection.

40. The mixer nozzle size to be confirm by mixer vendor. Mixer is side entry. Tank nozzles are provision for future mixers.

42. Incase the thickness for plate A283 more than 25.4mm, SA516 Gr 70 shall be used.
43. The flanges for nozzle up to and including DN600 except shell and roof manholes shall be as per ASME B16.5.Flanges for nozzle size over DN600 shall be as per ASME B16.47 Series B. F1
44. The tank shall be designed to store ADO also. ADO fluid property is as per below.
45. Future connection for Recirculation Suction Line.
46. Future connection for Recirculation Return Line.
47. Nozzle for PDT and MPP ingress outlet shall be located at 300 mm from tank bottom.
48. Stilling well shall be provided.
