“THE SOCIETY AGAINST ME”

Streetlights highlight approaching cars,

And lost souls sneaking within bars,
To express while drinking away their pain,
Or mourn their long-gone yesterdays.

You deny me the opportunity to speak

I am inferior in your eyes.
Somehow, you believe that identity
Is justification for your lies.

But who Am I to stand in?

Before the years that had been burned in,
Our thoughts are like records.
Compelling histories with good hearts

From stumbling along the ground

Seeking what is never found?
I was always observing the world,
And questioned whether the rest of the world saw me.
