Green Neighborhood
Initiative: A Community-
Green Neighborhood
Project Title Based Project for Project Code
Initiative
Environmental Cleaning
and Urban Gardening

Project Samantha Gwen R. Proposal March 20, 2023 – June 8,

Leader Eraldo Date 2023

After conducting a thorough community needs assessment, our

team has come to the realization that regular cleaning is crucial in
maintaining the cleanliness of the area and managing horticulture in
open areas. Moreover, the residents have demonstrated their dedication
to preserving the cleanliness of their environment and their anticipation
on looking forward for a better-green environment through urban
gardening. This underscores the significance of implementing
sustainable cleaning practices and gardening management that can be
continuously applied in the community. We firmly believe that consistent
efforts are necessary to attain and uphold this objective. For this reason,
we introduce the Green Neighborhood Initiative: A Community-Based
Project for Environmental Cleaning and Urban Gardening, which
endeavors to promote sustainable cleaning practices and gardening
management that foster a healthy and clean environment for all
members of the community.
Project
Description Our project aims to show the community the importance of
environmental cleaning and urban gardening practices through
collaborative and engaging activities such as segregation and recycling
of materials, planting and cultivating. We hope to raise awareness and
inspire community members to participate in the project without
incentives, fostering a sense of belonging and promoting physical
activity and exploration of their surroundings. Our ultimate goal is to
empower youth to participate in environmental action, appreciate our
environment, and help community workers by lessening their assigned
tasks while promoting cleanliness and gardening management in Brgy.
Sagad.

In summary, the Green Neighborhood Initiative is a collaborative

effort to improve the cleanliness, better-green and sustainability of our
community, and we believe that it can create a positive impact on both
the environment and the people living in it.
To empower/encourage youth to participate in environmental action
and encourage everyone not to litter or scatter anything in any place.

To be a positive influence in appreciating our environment and to

help the community workers by lessening their assigned tasks

To help Filipinos be clean in their surroundings and to promote

Project
cleanliness and management in Brgy. Sagad
Objectives
To educate everyone and to bring out the importance of urban
gardening in today's society.

To demonstrate how urban gardening can improve the overall

attractiveness of urban areas and to create green spaces with a
pleasant ambiance for all.

Before starting the project, first and second meeting was allocated
for surveying and the proponents ask permission to the officials of the
barangay.

Place: Barangay Sagad Pasig City

Expected Output: Organized, clean and green community.

The activity will focus on maintaining the cleanliness of the

barangay and helping them embrace gardening in the urban community.
This activity will last 3 hours.

The documentation will include images of the project's progress as

well as a description of what the project is all about.
Project
Mechanics Every Thursday, the proponents will be doing cleaning tasks and
gardening activities. The eleven (11) participants of the activity will be
helping the community through their own skills and knowledge. This will
encourage the barangay to maintain the cleanliness and will hone one’s
ability to get along with others aside from helping them live in a better
environment. This task will also let the community engage in planting
even though they are in urban areas.

They are tasked with showing their compilation at the end of each
program.

All participants in this program should be vaccinated and show no

signs of COVID-19. The said event will adhere to the IATF's health and
safety protocols.
