A Proposal for a Short film

PROPOSAL

Synopsis: A girl whose suffering with mental health problems, such as schizophrenia, has hit
a low point in her life that she’s never experienced before, so she starts going to therapy.
She had recently been seeing and hearing things that aren’t there and it was starting to
scare her. She gets really overwhelmed at therapy and decides to run out. She then waits for
her friend to pick her up but sees something start to follow her. She starts to run as it gets
closer then gets snapped back into reality by her friend beeping their car horn.

When she gets home things don’t feel the same and things start happening to her. She
starts to feel the figure following her again. Things suddenly start moving on their own and
start crashing onto the floor. She then gets overly stressed out and starts to try to leave the
house but it locked after she entered the house. As the film goes on the protagonist gets
more and more distressed in the house and starts crying/running. After the build-up you
hear a thud, and the music cuts out so the viewers can only hear a clock ticking. In the final
scene you see the shadow hovering over the protagonist’s body. The screen would then cut
to darkness.

Purpose: A 7 minute short film in the suspense genre, inspired by Jordan Peele

What is the USP:

Our USP is that our short film can be interpret the ending however the audience want and
to and to create their own theories about the story. We also want the audience to wonder if
this film is based off the protagonist’s imagination.
