ATTENDANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

S1.INTRODUCTION AND DESIGN OF THE STUDY

1.1) INTRODUCTION
Attendance Management system could be understood as a set of
methods and procedures which are carried out for the purpose of regulating
student attendance. Student attendance management system deals with the
maintenance of the student’s attendance details. It generates the attendance of
the student on basis of presence in class. It is maintained on the daily basis of
their attendance. The staffs will be provided with the separate username &
password to make the student’s status.
The staffs handling the particular subjects responsible to make the
attendance for all students. Only if the student present on that particular period,
the attendance will be calculated. The students attendance reports based on
weekly and consolidate will be generated. An accurate report based on the
student attendance is generated here. This system will also help in evaluating
attendance eligibility criteria of a student. Report of the student’s attendance on
weekly and monthly basis is generated.
The intention of developing Attendance Management System is to
computerized the tradition way of taking attendance. Another purpose for
developing this software is to generate the desired reports automatically at the
end of the session or in the between of the session as they require. Tracking
student attendance helps the teachers to keep track of student absenteeism and
punctuality. It helps schools understand the average percentage of students
attending school each day in the given year and helps them find ways to avoid
dropouts. This information, when shared with the government authorities, also
helps them work on policies to reduce truancy and keeps kids in school.
The process of manually tracking attendance has always been a
complicated and cumbersome task. Over the years, several solutions have been
developed to record student attendance. The most popular of these is a Student
Attendance Management System.

1.2) PURPOSE OF THE SYSTEM

The key purpose of using a student attendance management system
in schools is to automate the attendance process. However, besides this, there
are a few more important reasons to invest in a student attendance management
system they are , Attendance Tracking In Real-Time, Automate The Payroll
Process, Absence of Proxy Attendance.

1.3) PROBLEMS IN EXISTING SYSTEM

The existing attendance system is recording the data manually.
Some of the problems in existing system are listed below.

interpretation of data simple and easy to grasp.

Day-wise attendance, Class-wise attendance, Month-Wise, Class-Attendance,
and much more. can be easily generated quickly. Current and back-dated reports
are available readily.
Zero Errors: Reduction of paperwork and elimination of errors is possible
when attendance is automated.

2.2) EXISTING SYSTEM

The Existing system is a manual entry for the students. Here the
attendance will be carried out in the hand written registers. It will be a tedious
job to maintain the record for the user. The human effort is more here. The
retrieval of the information is not as easy as the records are maintained in the
hand written registers. application requires correct feed on input into the
respective field. Suppose the wrong inputs are entered, the application resist to
work. So the user find it difficult to use.
2.3) PROPOSED SYSTEM
To overcome the drawbacks of the existing system, the proposed
system has been evolved . This project aims to reduce the paper work and
saving time to generate accurate results from the student’s attendance. The
system provides with the best user interface. The efficient reports can be
generated by using this proposed system.
