POWER LIFTGATE MANUAL

FOR
2012-2016 Honda CR-V
This power lift gate kit for Honda CRV support
automatic trunk open/close control by using 1) remote
keyfob 2) dashboard button 3) gate button 4) Foot
sensor – optional

NOTICE

1. Check parts & quantity in the accessories table. Must


use the brackets/screws provided by us if not stated.
2. Shut down engine before installation. Product must
be installed by qualified installers.
3. Strut assembly contains high pressure part, self-
disassembling the poles is prohibited.
4. Make protections of the car dash board, plastic and
metal surface, in case scratches during installation.
5. Secure all the cables/wires in the car in case loose
contact while driving.
6. The installation will take 2-3 hours, please follow the
manual patiently.

ATTENTION:

i. The kit is designed per standard factory hatch panel


ii. Bench-test is forbidden, this kit must be installed in
car and test directly.
iii. Do NOT insert power plugs to ECU control box until
the entire installation job is done.
iv. Keep gate open when installation job is done. Make
sure the lock modular is UNLOCKED.
v. Must initialize system after installation - manually lift
tailgate to desired height, long press our rear button 5
seconds until a beep is heard, short click our rear button
to close the door, the system is initialized and ready for
use once door is fully closed with a beep.

INSTALLATION STEPS

1. Vehicle’s rear view

2. Remove driver’s step panel

Remove rear seats step panel

3. Remove main trunk panel

Remove rear trunk trim

4. Remove the trim panel indicated by the arrow in the


picture below, both left & right side

Pry the trim panel in the picture as below

Pry the trim panel in the picture below.

5. Pry the left side trim panel in the picture

6. Remove the cover panel indicated by the circle in the
picture as below, remove door handle first

7. Remove original taillights (both left and right).

8. Remove original gas spring & studs

Loosen original gas spring clips by using a screw driver, then


pull it out gently. Note you need a help to hold the hatch
door when removing the original gas spring

9. Install our door bracket per picture, then install door stud
& washer per picture (note door stud is shorter than car
body stud)

10. Install our power struts, cable at car body

11. Place control box in left side of trunk

Ground our GND wire to a screw nearby control box

12. Replace original latch striker to ours for soft close, fix with
our KM8 screws

Place soft close motor nearby spare tire

13. Route front button cable, power cable and yellow unlock
cable to driver’s position, NOTE place control box (ECU)
in left side of trunk

Route lock adapter cable and rear button cable to door panel

14. Locate original lock connector behind latch, disconnect it,


connect our lock adapter in between

15. Locate original side door connector in B pillar, tap our


yellow wire to original purple wire

16. Drill a hole to install our front button, picture for
reference.

17. Locate original fuse box under driver’s dashboard, replace


original 20A or 30A fuse to power plug

*** Must insert factory fuse back to our fuse plug

18. Drill a hole to install our rear button, picture for reference.

19. Restore all panels, installation completed

*ignore this purple wire, it is not used

20. Initialize system after installation - manually lift tailgate to


desired height, long press our rear button 5 seconds until
a beep is heard, short click our rear button to close the
door, the system is initialized and ready for use once door
is fully closed with a beep.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. How to operate the liftgate?

There are four methods as below:


1) Use original remote – 3x unlock
2) Use our rear button – 1x
3) Use our front button – long press
4) Use foot sensor – Sold separately

2. How to setup tailgate height?

Manually lift door to a desired height, long press our


rear button until you hear a beep, done.

3. Why there are two beeps when door closing?

1) two beep means anti-pinch, check if anything is


preventing strut/door movement
2) inspect power supply, include positive 12-16v,
negative connects, and fuse box

4. Tailgate cannot be closed to the end and not locked

1) slightly adjust latch hook position


2) reverse left and right strut plugs in control box
3) check control box wiring
4) must using our screws in the box
5) remove rubber lock buffer block in the latch

5. Tailgate can only open to half of the height

1) reverse left and right strut plug in control box


2) reset tailgate height

6. Original remote/fob does not work

1) check our yellow wire connection to original unlock


signal
2) check OBD connection if kit has a decoder box
3) adjust click rhythm
4) check OEM vehicle’s system settings about unlock
signal

7. Front button can open but not close the gate

2) check lock adapter (status) signal
3) update firmware
