Did you ever wonder how to model a football in SolidWorks? Well, in today’s lesson we will show you how to
model an artistic football with debossed orange surfaces in 3D.

Select the Top Plane from the Features tree and click on the sketch icon
Draw a polygon with 5 sides concentric to the origin This is called a pentagon.
Click on the vertical side and assign a length of 50mm, as shown in the image below

Select Plane1 from the feature tree and click on the sketch icon
Draw a random polygon with 6 sides instead of 5 sides. This is called a hexagon.
Hold the CTRL key, select the corner of the hexagon and Point1
Hold down the CTRL key, select the next corner of the hexagon and the Point2
Then assign a coincident relation between them, as shown in the image below

Click on the Close sketch icon to close the sketch area.

Go to the property manager and enable the Copy option box and assign the No. of Copies 1
