2. Project Title : Walgreens- Retail Transformation SAP Legacy Integration Project


Role & Location: Sr. webMethods Developer,Junior Architect -Deerfield, IL, USA (Jan 2017 to Apr 2021)

Description :
This project deal with Retail Transformation and SAP Legacy Integration. TCS is the integration partner for Walgreens.
The Retail Transformation project of Walgreens is to implement SAP as a central ERP solution within Walgreens and
integrate SAP with other legacy and 3rd Party (Non-SAP) systems. Walgreens is taking a leap towards upgrading itself
technology wise with introducing new technologies like SAP, JDA, and STOCK+ etc.
In SAP integration Project, TCS’s role is to take care of the Integration part and to make sure smooth data flow from
Legacy/Heritage system to SAP and vice versa for R4B interfaces. The current scope of the project is also to perform
cutover activities for stores and distribution centers and rollout the integration solution to 8808 stores (7525 Walgreens
and 1283 RAD stores) and 16 DCs.

Responsibilities:
 Requirement gathering and documentation
- Gathering detailed requirements for building interfaces –systems, environment details during the project start
to meet all the development needs
- Analysis/engineering to ensure that all the requirements specified are quantifiable, relevant and detailed with
Walgreens application SMEs, SAP and Legacy system
- Discover the boundaries of the new feature/enhancement and how it impacts the other upstream and
downstream system holistically
 Managed firewall requests and connectivity checks. Firewall ports need to be opened before connection from
webMethods to other systems, coordinating and raising firewall requests and checking telnet connectivity once
firewall port is opened.
- Testing connectivity for Production, non-Production environments between SAP, Middleware and legacy system.
- Preparing the design documents (TDD: Technical design document),mapping sheet, based on the finalized
approach and getting sign offs.
 Development
- Configure & develop the event, scripts to transfer files from source to preferred target location for application
and business process integration
- Create the event with password and password less connectivity, encryption and decryption
- Configured multiple target servers independently by doing setup and coding ATS events in such a way if any one
target system is down, still other target systems will receive files thus ensuring system availability all the time for
business stakeholders.
Writing code for interface implementation based on the functional requirements provided by Walgreens
application SMEs, SAP, Legacy team
- Comprise business logic, change in File format (Flat file to XML, XML to Flatfile) to generate output files in
defined scenarios
- Exposure in flow services: Branch, Sequence, Loop, Repeat, Exit, build in service, Java service.
- Stronghold in the publish-subscribe model - UM, ATS are used to get and move files from the source system to
one or multiple target systems.
- Use commands and scripts (Linux) for day-to-day activity-telnet,chmod, checking error logs etc

 Unit Testing
- Creating a Unit Test Plan (UTP) to cover all scenario-testing connectivity, business logic, expected and actual
result with snapshot
- Perform unit testing where individual components, units, business logic are verified.

 QA Testing
 Involve webMethods frameworks and cross reference (Article, Site, Vendor,EDI Site, Auth, Switch) end to end
testing using SOAP UI

 Performance Testing
- Verify large file handling data
- Performance metrics capture whenever there is large file processing in production in order to ensure there is no
performance degradation once the software is deployed in production for users.

 Deployment activity
- Code deployment activity (QA/Performance/Production) after successful completion of unit, Performance
testing in the development cycle.
- Maintaining & Managing Software version and revision control using Code Management and Versioning tool -
(SVN and Jenkins)

PROD. In my team I am the only person who takes care of all deployment formalities and join production
validation activity for any critical/store go live/Release deployment.

- Resolve queries from the QA-Performance team whenever any DEV assistance is required.
- Resolve QA defects -functional/performance issues in DEV and redeploy in QA.
- The investigation, analysis, resolution in production after code is deployed in production if there are any issues

Description:
 Providing ESB infrastructure support from offshore.
 Provide webMethods administration support for Development (DEV), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and System
Integration testing (SIT) Stage, Production, and failover.
 Provide Disaster Recovery (DR) environment Administration support includes day to day monitoring, capacity
trending and reviews, health-checking, consulting, and troubleshooting,
 Any issue to be sent to webMethods Support mailbox. webMethods Support team then checks the inbox and assigns
the issues within the team and tries to resolve them
 Planned a 3 phase approach for the parallel upgrade to webMethods 9.5 without impacting current business and on

Skin ID: The purpose of the project is to transfer the SkinID customer data to the ITS-CRM system in near real-time. This
interface gets data from the SKINID team through web service call. SKINID has set up a connector in its server through
that connector, it can send data to wM provider

Description:
Leap Live ANZ is part of the larger initiative Leap Live. Previous phases were Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Thailand,
Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines. The Current phases are Australia and New Zealand. Future phases
are China and India. As a part of SAP ECC6 roll out for ANZ, 58 interfaces are required between SAP ECC6 and other
business applications.

IMEX is a Trade Finance processing system. IMEX is a wordHTML (Vendor tool). In DB TF – IMEX is used to create
transactions like Letter of Credit, Documentary Collection & Clean Collection for Germany and Spain and specific Trade
related financing. Surecomp completely computerizes SWIFT & Electronic Banking messages and Advises of bank's Trade
Finance domain transaction processing.

Global Human Resource Transformation (GHRT) project deals with HR transformation activities across Johnson &
Johnson around 250 Operating companies. The GHRT is a program that aims to centralizing HR applications across
worldwide operating companies and outsourcing them to Convergys. The project involves the integration of SAP system
with the legacy system. The integration is achieved by building publish-subscribe interfaces using webMethods trading
networks.
