    This article discusses a particular type of burial found in the urban area of the Moche archaeological site on Peru's northern coast. The burial consisted of a single individual placed in a simple pit grave within a residential area. This type of burial contrasts with the common Moche burials that included multiple individuals in elaborate tombs.
