Rationale: The arrival of the Internet of Things (IoT) into our daily lives in various forms
such as home appliances and wearable devices has dominated Internet usage. This
dominant behavior left network practitioners with many questions to be answered
related to IoT devices, including development, deployment, security, privacy, and ethics.
For every new device, a set of procedures and algorithms need to be developed to
enable them to connect, interact, monitor, analyze, and augment the device’s physical
attributes. Given that the data generated and processed by the IoT devices contain a
large amount of private information, processing, archiving, and preserving information
security of the data collected from IoT devices is an important issue that cannot be
neglected.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a system of interconnected, internet-connected objects

that collect and transmit data without human intervention over a wireless network. The
world has more connected devices than people. As a result of the IoT, businesses,
governments, and human beings interact differently. Education is not yet among the
most common IoT applications. Students, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders are
wary when it comes to implementing connected e-learning solutions. Despite this,
schools, colleges, and other institutions are taking advantage of the Internet of Things
platform as it becomes more popular and cheaper to implement. IoT has numerous
applications in education, from improving campus attendance to ensuring in-class
productivity.

As beneficial as internet connected devices are, they do create significant security

challenges. While you might assume that these devices are protected with the same
level of security as the typical network server. Security and privacy are important
aspects of IoT networks. Given the widespread use of IoT devices in many fields,
keeping the network secure is becoming increasingly important.

Objectives:

The seminars aim to:

 To provide privacy, confidentiality, and to ensure that every user can get
better protection, infrastructures, and a guarantee to the availability of
various services offered by the ecosystem of IoT.
 Establish key guidelines for maintaining security and privacy online
 Define privacy and security in the context of an online environment
