III. Procedure
a. Motivation (Recall)

Task 1. Types of Skills

i. The teacher will play a short video clip about “Interest vs. Skills” and
students will be asked to do the following:
 Re-state the three different types of skills presented in the video
in a table and define them,

 Identify the type of skills showcased in the example sentences


given earlier in the motivation

Task 2. Video Presentation

i. The teacher will play a short video clip about six kinds of interests
and job-related skills that match the interest and students are tasked
to jot down important information and answer the guide questions.

2. What are the six kinds of interests based on the clip?
3. Out of all the six interests, which one best describes
you?

Relation of Interests and Skills

 Although some skills are natural (something we are born with), most
skills are actually developed and progressed over time. Oftentimes,
these skills are interconnected with an individual’s interests.

Types of Skill

o Functional – things you can do


o Subject – things you know
o Personal Trait – ways that you act

Six Types of Work-Related Interests and Skills

o Doing Things (Doer) - people who prefers to work with their hands
and tools. They are physical active. Doers can take jobs such as
farming, chef, construction worker.
o Thinking (Thinkers) – people who prefers working independently
and are adept at analyzing and solving pieces of information and
problems. Thinkers can take job such as scientists, researchers, or
accountants.
o Creating (Innovators) – people who likes to come up with new ideas
and innovate new things. Jobs included in this interest are graphic
designers, Fashion designers, musician etc.
o Helping (Helpers) – these are people who are good at working with
people. They enjoy working in teams and organizing. Jobs included
in this interest are caregivers, doctors, nurses, or teachers.
o Persuading (Influencers) – Influencers are eloquent. They use their
skills in communicating to convince or persuade people to buy a
product or service. An influencer can take jobs such as salesperson,
marketing, and managers.
o Organizing (Organizers) – these are people who enjoy working with
clear schedules and rules. Jobs that can be taken from this interest
are assistants, project managers and researchers.

Directions: In a minimum of 5 sentence, describe what is your dream job and why, and
what kind of skills do you need to develop for that job.
