First essay

Rembrandt is a well-known face in Dutch art. He is known for his style of work: attention to the
environment and the clothing of the subject, a classic light and shadow contrast, and for his
marvelous art painted on the wood. As to the surprise, there are some allegations that some of the
arts known to be painted by him are debated that are not, one of them is the portrayal of the lady
with a white linen cap. However, the professor casts doubt on it by mentioning some quite fair
points.

The first point mentioned in the passage about the portrayal is the lack of discipline that
Rembrandt has shown in his work: having an interest in the subject's clothing, the passage states
that half of the cloth that is worn by the lady is somewhat a servants type of clothing but the fur
collar is a luxurious piece of cloth and is typically not worn by a servant. However, the professor
states that after lots of research, it is said that the painting was repainted and modified by
someone else to increase its value.

Secondly, Rembrandt is known for the light and shadow style of his work and the portrayal lacks
this feature and discipline, but the professor says that due to the nature of the cloth worn by the
lady is a light cloth that may be reflection and shadow had caused some of these issues.

on the last, about the wooden panel, the original piece was indeed in a single piece but due to the
single reason of wanting to increase the value of the painting they wanted to make it a separate
wooden art united by glue.
