I. Introduction/background:

As a student of architecture, the major part of your education is always accompanied by research. For
your introduction it must state the following:
A. Describe the topic.
B. Tell what to expect from the paper.
C. Sufficient background information helps your reader determine if you have a
basic understanding of the research problem being investigated and
promotes confidence in the overall quality of your analysis and findings. This
information provides the reader with the essential context needed to
understand the research problem and its significance.
NOTE: Minimize using related literatures. Your introduction/background for the research/seat work
must originally comes from you.

II. Objectives of this research: (Provide atleast (3) three sentences or one paragraph as your
introduction before presenting your objectives).
Every research work must specify or point out your intentions.
A. Explain what your paper will prove.
B. Explain what the research work wanted to attain.
Example: 1. To identify the different type of houses.
Example: 2. To enumerate the advantages and disadvantages of a Duplex
House compare with bungalow house.

Note: Refer to the Bloom’s Taxonomy for the action verbs to be used.

III. Contents of the research topic: (Provide atleast (3) three sentences or one paragraph as your
introduction for this part). Base from your objectives show now the details or facts of your stated
objectives.
1. The different type of houses. Explain what are these different type of houses by
definition and provide photos with source (references).
2. The advantages and disadvantages of a Duplex House. Itemize and explain these.

IV. Conclusion:
Summarizing your thoughts and conveying the larger significance of your topic. The Write up is an
opportunity to briefly answer the "So What?" question by placing the topic within the context of past
research about the topic you have investigated. Avoid repeating what was stated or presented in the
contents of your research. This will be the part of your research to discuss your findings.

Duplex/Single Attached – is a dwelling containing 2 or more separate living units each of which is
separated from another by party or lot lines walls and provided with independent access, services, and
use of land. Such dwelling shall include duplexes, quadruplex or terraces, and cluster housing.

On the other hand, as a house having separate apartments for two families, especially a two-story
house having a complete apartment on each floor and two separate entrances.

On the other hand, www.dictionary.com defines a duplex. As a house having separate apartments for
