1. Ex Officio Chairperson - may also refer to a person who is not an official member of an

organization but holds a position of influence.

DILG (DEPARTMENT OF INTERIOR AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT)

COMPOSITION OF DILG

1.Bureau of Local Government Development (BLGD) –The Bureau of Local Government

Development (BLGD) of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) as

mandated to enhance the technical, financial and administrative capabilities of local government

units, is into development of computer-based administrative systems under its Improved Local

Operations
2. Bureau of Local Government Supervision (BLGS) - They implement laws, rules,

regulations,

plans, programs and projects of the Department and assist LGUs in the development of their

over-all capabilities for local administration and development.

3.National Barangay Operations Office (NBOO) – defining the actions and the Authorizing

the

implementation , compensation system and funding organization staffing partner of the National

Barangay operations office.

Relationship of the DILG with the Department of National Defense (DND)

Under RA6975, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP)was in charge with external security

while the DILG was in charge with internal security under RA 8551, the Armed Forces of the

Philippines is now in charge with both internal and external security with the PNP as support

through information gathering and performance of ordinary police functions.
