The 11/10/22
INTRODUCTION
Since the dawn of times, the earth has been experiencing climatic changes but in
the past it was due to natural causes unlike now when most of it is the
responsibility of humans. Climate change has become the talk of the world
because it upset its scales and changed the rules of its entirety. This imbalance is
affecting buildings, roads and infrastructure.

BACKGROUND
We decided to tackle this subject as it effects the safety and durability of
constructions, therefore as future civil engineers we should be aware of the effects
climate change have on buildings and have some clear ideas about it in order to
help reduce or even better prevent those problems from affecting all infrastructure.

AIM & OBJECTIVES

The presentation was aimed for explaining the following questions:
What is climate change?
What are its effects on infrastructure, buildings and other civil constructions?
How can civil engineers make those infrastructures resilient to climate
change?

METHODOLOGY
The informations were showed in the form of a/an:
PowerPoint presentation made with illustrative pictures.
Explanatory video from the "UN Environment Programme"
YouTube channel named: "A Practical Guide to Climate-
resilient Buildings".

PAGE 1
SUMMARY
In general, the presentation provided a briefe definition of climate change
defining it as a change in the average conditions — such as temperature
and rainfall in a region over a long period of time, then mentioned two
main problems by which climate change is affecting infrastructure and
those are liquefaction and cracks, finally it gave some solutions to these
problems.

CONCLUSION
We would like to conclude that this was an interesting presentation where we
learned a lot starting with the technical knowledge but also with soft skills
including effective ways of research, making a simple PowerPoint presentation,
and practicing public speaking once more. And hopefully, our classmates and
Mr.Remch benefited along side with us from the informations and can keep some
of them in mind, they might come in handy one day.
