    CHILD WORKERS IN FACTORIES

    To begin with, some children had the job of cleaning the


    machines while they were running.
    They could have the risk of their hands being trapped and
    in that case losing some of their fingers.
    We can also read that the owner of the factory abused
    children who were late for work, they normally went to
    work at 4 am and worked about 16 hours a day with short
    breaks.
    The food was also known to be pretty bad, the most
    common being oatmeal cake, but they were too hungry
    to eat anything.

    QUESTIONS
     Why did you abuse children?
     Why did you make them clean the machines when
    they were working?
     If they worked so many hours in a row, why didn't
    you give them longer breaks?
