Summarizing, Paraphrasing, and Quoting

A. Summarizing
- Recycling is the process of gathering and converting resources into new goods that would otherwise be
thrown away as waste. Both the environment and your community may benefit from recycling.
Recycling can be collected in a variety of ways, including curbside pickup, drop-off locations, and deposit
or reimbursement schemes. After collection, recyclables are sent to a recovery facility to be sorted,
cleaned, and processed into materials that can be used in manufacturing. Recyclables are bought and
sold just like raw materials would be, and prices go up and down depending on supply and demand.

Some of the terms used are listed below:

-The product was made from waste that was either recovered during routine manufacturing or recycled
materials that were either gathered through a recycling program. The percentage of recycled
components in the product will occasionally be stated on the label.

-Post-consumer content is very similar to recycled content, however, it exclusively consists of

recyclables that have been gathered through recycling programs from individuals or businesses.

-Recyclable items are those that, after being used, can be gathered, processed, and turned into new
products. These goods may not always be made from recycled materials. Always verify with your local
recycling program before you buy since not all recyclables may be collected in your area.

Some of the common products you can find that can be made with recycled content include the
following:

 Aluminum cans
 Car bumpers
 Carpeting
 Cereal boxes
 Comic books
 Egg cartons
 Glass containers
 Laundry detergent bottles
 Motor oil
 Nails
 Newspapers
 Paper towels
 Steel products
 Trash bags
B. Paraphrasing
-Recycling is important for many reasons. However, saving the earth will be its main benefit.
Additionally, recycling protects the environment by enabling paper to be reprocessed, saving millions of
trees.

Recyclable materials may often be easily transformed into new materials, which further reduces energy
consumption. It also conserves a lot of resources.

Recycling also lessens the environmental strain. We produce fewer greenhouse gases and oxides as a
result of our energy conservation efforts. because factories produce the majority of the hazardous
gases.

Recycling also lessens the amount of waste that takes a long time to disintegrate. Recycled materials can
also be sold. We manufacture using this recyclable material.

The various materials that we recycle have to go through a process that refines and purifies them.
Besides, different materials go through a different process and in this topic we will discuss the recycling
process of various materials.

Paper- It is the most used material on the earth. Paper is made up of two materials water and wood. For
recycling paper firstly they break it down in small pieces and dissolve it into water. After that, they add
chemicals that filter out the ink and dirt from it. In addition after filtering the paper takes the form of a
mush called the pulp and this pulp is later converted into clean paper.

Metals- The metals are first shredded into small pieces and then they were melted and after that
remolded into new shapes.

Glass- The recycling of glass is the easier they just break it into pieces and then they melt it and recast
them.

Plastic- They also follow the same process as plastic. But, the process of plastic recycling is a little bit
complex because they have to sort out the different types of plastics. As there is a diverse variety of
plastic with different properties.
