Criminal Law:

On a Monday, at 12:00, a man was walking in the park with his child. The park was

located next to a busy road. The 12-year-old boy hit the ball he was holding so hard that it hit

the street. When the boy wanted to go for the ball, he was hit by a speeding driver who did not

follow the rules and traffic signs in that area. The boy was taken to hospital where he was

diagnosed with a broken leg and a fractured arm.

Meanwhile, the police arrived at the scene and found the strange behavior of the

driver who seems to be under the influence of certain substances.

The driver was banned from driving on public roads for 2 and a half years and had

to pay $ 400 in fines.

Civil Law:

The amount paid by the driver's license did not benefit the victim of the criminal act

in any way, so the boy's father managed to establish a civil action in order to remedy his

child's injuries.

The case was held in the Country Court, where the driver of the car was found liable

for his actions. He was ordered to pay $ 3000 along with the claimant’s costs in bringing the

action.
