1 EXT. TOWN 1

We start by watching a walking through town, his name is

Thomas Branson. He is dressed in a fancy attire, and walks
with pride. Although contrary to this, he is a very timid
man, whose whole personality is held together through his
wealth.

The time is around midday, and we can see many people

walking around. Thomas looks rather out of place, as his
outfit is much more fancy than the other people occupying
the area. He enjoys this, however, as he likes being better
than others in any aspect. He has a blank expression on his
face showing no sign of emotion. We begin to hear his
internal voice:

THOMAS V/0
I work at Harrison and Co. making
326 thousand a year. To most, I am
the ideal person. To others, I am
the perfect businessman. In
reality, although I have the shell
of a man, a man I am not. While
others feel emotion, I feel
nothing. I live a existence filled
with nothing but the constant urge
of emptiness within me. I feel most
alive right before I awake in the
morning, before the void begins to
consume me. I wish for others to
feel the pain that only I do. It
seems to be the only release from
this sadistic world. Perhaps when I
die, I might finally feel something
except this feeling of rot. I live
like a man, but I am not.

We follow Thomas throughout his walk, until we arrive at a

cafe.

2 INT. CAFE 2

Thomas enters the cafe. It is an old fashioned style cafe,

it has a certain level of class to it. As he enters the
building and notices a man at the end of the establishment.
As he gets closer, the man notices him.

The man's name was Walter Oswald, and he was a friend of

Thomas. He was everything Thomas believed himself to be,
richer, smarter nd overall more looked up to by others.
2.

He began to greet Thomas as he got closer:

WALTER
Ah, Thomas, glad you finally made
it, took your time.

THOMAS
I do apologize, some work came up.

Thomas pulls out a chair and sits down.

WALTER

No matter, how's the business

going, heard you've been on the
verge of that large deal for a
while now, hows that going.

THOMAS
(Confidentially)
As a matter of fact, that's what I
was doing, and, get this, I just
closed a deal for 120k.

Walter stops and gasps slightly, whilst Thomas leans back

with a large grin on his face

THOMAS
Decided to get these as a sort of,
celebration.

Thomas pulls out a business card out of his suit pocket. It

had a certain shine to it. He places on the table, so that
Walter can look.

WALTER
Very nice, like the material, gives
it a quality look.

Walter goes to feel the card, however Thomas is unhappy

about this. He swiftly grabs the card, and pulls it back
towards him. He has a slightly annoyed look on his face.
Walter seems to be slightly taken back by this, but
recovers quickly.

WALTER
3.

Anyways, that remindes me, I just

closed a deal myself, 263k. Me and
some of the guys are going out
tonight to celebrate. Knew your not
the fondest of those types of
events, so I didnt think to invite
you.

Thomas has an expression showing visibal anger and shame

that he's been beaten.

He begins to slightly gasp, as if trying to form a sentence

whilst in panic. He stutters slightly, as he is trying to
form a coheant sentance.

Walter begins to look at his phone, as if he has got a

notification. He starts to get up, nd starts talking,
cutting Thomas off.

WALTER
Ah, I must get going, got a few
people I need to call before
wrapping up for the day.

Before Thomas can reply, Walter begins to walk away. He

stops by Thomas's side and begins to think.

WALTER
Oh..., just remembered, there's a
things I need to talk to you about,
umm, how about I come around to
yours, this Thursday.

Thomas replies in a somewhat dazed and croaky voice.

THOMAS
uh, y-yeah, sounds good

Walter then pats Thomas on the shoulder, before walking

off. As we focus on just Thomas, his face slowly turns to
pain and anger.

We then jump to a dark room, filled with ominous lighting.

We see Thomas sitting in this room, with messed hair, and a
loosend tie. He is blankly staring at the ground.

A sound of static is looming in the background. It slowly

gets louder and louder, until the scene ends.

3 INT. THOMAS'S HOUSE 3

4.

We cut to Thomas at the door of his house. He opens it and

we see Walter standing outside. They greet each other,
before Walter enters the home.

They enter the living room. In The centre of view, there is

a large couch, which they both sit down on. The both have
drinks in there hands.

WALTER

Glad to finally be able to catch up

you, how are things, been up to
anything?

Thomas talks, in much more calm and quite manor than

before.

THOMAS
Nothing in particular...no.

WALTER
Ah, just remembered, the deal is
mentioned to you a few days ago,
turns out the company would like to
do further business. It may be more
beneficial than I had previously
thought.

Walter begins to chuckle to himself, before having a drink

of there beverage. Thomas gets up in visible annoyance,
before getting up and going over to a device to play music.

It begins to play Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven.

THOMAS
Now this is real music. You know
this song was created by Beethoven
all the way back 1801 for a student
he fell in love with, in fact...

He is rudley cutoff by Walter.

WALTER
Never cared for that classical
rubbish, seems like something you
would like though.

Thomas sharply turns around, and speaks to Walter in clear

annoyance.

THOMAS
5.

Why are you hear, Walter. You said

you had some imprtant news that
needed to be shared?

Walter seems a little thrown off by Thomas's anger,

although finds it quite amusing.

WALTER
Truth be told, Timothy at your firm
told me to talk to you about that
deal you did. He seems a little
concerned that you may...damage the
deal. I told him to relax, but he
seemed quite persistent. Don't get
me wrong, I don't think he was
insulting you, it's just that, you
know, it's quite a large deal.

Thomas's face goes completely blank, showing no visibal

reaction to this, he then says, in a calm manour.

THOMAS
I see.....You want me to get you
another drink.

Walter replies, sounding relifed.

WALTER
ah yes, that sounds great.

Thomas grabs Walters glass, whilst walking out of the room.

We stay on Walter as he sits in the room on his own. He
pulls out his phone, and seemingly begins to start typing.

We cut to the door being out of frame, with focus still on

Walter. Suddenly we hear Thomas has returned at starts to
talk.

THOMAS
Walter?

Walter looks up, to see Thomas swinging a bat towards his

head. It has a direct impact, knocking Walter to the floor.

We then cut to an upwards shot of just Thomas, as he is

repetly smacking Walter, who is on the gorund.

THOMAS
6.

HOWS YOUR FUCKING 263 THOUSAND DEAL

NOW YOU PIECE OF SHIT. YOU THINK
YOUR FUCKING BETTER THAN ME, I'LL
KILL YOU. NO ONES BETTER THAN ME.
I'M BETTER THAN YOU, AND THAT PIECE
OF SHIT TIMOTHY.

This is followed by a series of blank grunts and yelling.

We then cut to a dark room, where Thomas is screaming and

yelling in pure anger.

4 INT. OFFICE 4

We cut to the next day. Thomas is enter a building via a

sliding door. The building appereas very proffesional and
sophisticated on the inside.

As Thomas is walking through, a women greets him from the

side, although he ignores them.

RECEPTIONIST
Morining mr Branson.

He walks over to an elevator, in which he gets inside. We

then cut to him in his office, using a computer.

We here a knocking on the door. Thomas tells them to enter

and a man walks inside. They are the aforementioned
Timothy, who is a colleague of Thomas.

TIMOTHY
Hi Thomas, how have you been.

THOMAS
Im fine, yeah, just havent slept
the best.

TIMOTHY
Oh yeah, wasnt Walter at your house
last night, how is he.

At the mention of Walters name, Thomas begins to get on

edge

THOMAS
Oh...well, i cant really remember
it that well, um, you know, the
whole night feels like a blur.

TIMOTHY
Oh jeez, you feeling alright now.
7.

THOMAS
(Nervously)
Um, yeah im fine now thanks, so
whats the issue, why'd you come
here.

TIMOTHY
Well truth be told, I was expecting
a meeting with Walter 30 minutes
ago, and I cant get hold of him. I
was wondering if you knew anything.

THOMAS
(More nervous than
before)
Well, mayb...erh, He mig...

He starting to mumble and panick.

TIMOTHY
(concerned)
Are you ok? You dont look well.

THOMAS
No...No, im f-fine, just need a few
minutes.

He stumbles past Timothy, and walks through the office

door. He stumbles through a hall, towards a bathroom.

Inside the bathroom, he turns on the tap and wets his face.

He stares into the mirror, and begins to punch it.

We then cut bk to him walking through the halls. We see

flashes of the dark room, with him laughning and shouting
inside of them. He finally stumbles to the outsid, where he
falls over.

Whilst on the floor, we see someone reach to give him a

hand up. He acepts this, and begins to turn to the person.

As the person comes into frame, we see that it is Walter,

the same man he had belived to kill. There is a look of
sheer terror on Thomas's face.

WALTER
Hi Thomas, how are you? Look im
sorry I missed last night, you know
how work is. Is was ju-, Thomas?
Thomas are you ok.
8.

His voice slowly fades out as we focus on Thomas's

terrified face.
