Introduction

Salem, Ohio is a town that was familiar to some of us at the beginning of this project, as some
of us have lived there or currently lived there, whereas some of us had only driven through
Salem once or twice. After Completing a windshield survey and doing some research on the
town, we have familiarized ourselves with the characteristics of Salem’s geography,
environment, people and infrastructure. We have identified strengths in the town as well as
some disparities that present community health issues to the population. We have also
formulated a plan on how some of those disparities could be aided.
