NOTES
a) Formworks to soffits or soffits of beams over 3.50 m high shall be described stating the height in further
stages of 1.50 m.

b) For soffits of slab, soffits of staircase flights, soffits of landing slab and soffits of beams which over
3.50 m high,need extra strutting,thus increase cost.

EXAMPLES:
Exceeding 3.50 m but not exceeding 5.00 m high

1 F.7 Sundries

F.7.1 Grouting under the steel stanchion bases and under steel
grillages shall be given separately in square metres stating
the mix of the grout and the number of bases or grillages.

✓ Grout is a thin fluid mortar used for filling interstices, etc.

✓ Grouting to stanchion bases and to grillages are each
enumerated and there is no requirement to give the
thickness of the grout. It would, however, be sensible to
refer to a detail on the drawings.
✓ Due to the extremely fine tolerances required it is not
practical to place the base of a steel stanchion or grillage
directly on to the concrete base and be truly vertical.
✓ To ensure th stanchion is truly vertical steel wedges are
inserted between the concrete base and the base plate
and the space is filled with grout.
✓ Stated the number, concluded in the description at the end
of description.
✓ Calculation is in m2

F.3.16 Clause :

Steps and staircase which shall be deemed to include strings and

associated landings

Explanation :

This clause is used to measure the quantity of concrete in both the steps and
staircase. The whole parts of the steps and staircase will be measured under one

Steps is defined as steps that has no flight

or a sloping slab. Usually, it is laid straight
to the surface and have no space
underneath it.

Staircase on the other hand is steps with

flight which underneath it has spaces.

The unit of measurement is m3 .

29/F.3.15 Isolated columns and isolated casings to steel columns which shall be deemed
to include kickers, shall be each given separately. Isolated columns shall be so
defined when their length on plan does not exceed four times their thickness.

- This shall only be isolated columns as attached columns are measured

with wall. It shall be deemed to include kickers.

- Isolated columns is defined when their length on plan does not exceed
4x their thickness
