SECTION A

1. . I completely agree with Ms. Ginger's method. The book's applicability is the first
reason why I agree with Ms. Ginger's technique. Students are exposed to formal language
in a well-written book, which can help them enhance their reading ability. Teachers should
have the freedom to create learning opportunities that interest students in the
development of reading skills based on their present knowledge and ability. The first is
modelled reading, in which the instructor reads aloud to the students. It is recommended
that teachers use three essential ways in which children can engage in order to improve
their reading skills, the first of which is modelled reading, in which the instructor reads
aloud to the students. The second type of reading is guided reading, in which the teacher
reads aloud with the students, and the third type is independent reading, in which the
children read on their own. Teachers must grasp literacy in order to invite, model, and
scaffold children's learning across a wide range of learning experiences.

Ms. Ginger then reads the story with a clear voice projection, allowing the pupils
to emphasize their concentration on the teacher. However, Ms. Ginger should have an
interaction with her students during the narration, in my opinion. Instead of sitting, she
should communicate with her students while standing. She can express herself more with
body motions and her vocal projection will improves as a result of this.

Furthermore, Ms Ginger uses large, colourful photographs as visual teaching aids.

This is an advantage due to the fact that a visual aid is frequently utilised in a presentation
to help the students grasp and recall information. Using printed resources such as books
and newspapers, for example, the teacher can create an active learning environment.
This allows to keep the students’ attention, motivate students to take action, explain a
storytelling organisation, or increase the persuasiveness of a storytelling.

SECTION B

1. By integrating bibliotherapy in an ESL primary classroom, it helps to develop the pupils’

understanding about themselves and knowing who they really are and know about their true
potential. In enhancing pupils’ intrapersonal development, teachers can introduce songs, poetry,
drama and stories. This will help to boost and develop the pupils believe in their abilities. For
example, teachers can promote motivational books to the pupils. This will help to boost the
pupils’ self-confident. The pupils will be able to increase their self-understanding and self-
evaluation skills. By having high level of confidence, it helps the pupils to overcome their
anxieties in learning English.

Bibliotherapy also helps in incorporating moral values. Moral values are an important
aspect as it helps to prepare the pupils for the future roles in society. It is really important because
it helps the pupils to distinguish between what is bad and good. Moral values can be inculcate
by selecting children’s books with moral values, in which children can distinguish from the
characters, plot or themes. Highlight the moral values and mention it explicitly after pupils have
read their books. Through the usage of bibliotherapy, teachers can also solve common issues
such as bully among the pupils. Bibliotherapy can be used to give moral values, supports and
awareness to them.

An activity that can be done in an ESL classroom to reflect the benefits of incorporating
bibliotherapy in class is by allowing the pupils to read more books that have moral values. By
reading the books, the pupils will have the awareness and will help to develop their attitudes
about themselves and of others. Teachers can conduct reading circle with their pupils and select
appropriate materials for them. After they are done with the reading, teachers will proceed with
sharing session by asking them whether they can relate with the content or if they can share
their opinions on the books. Hence, books about bully can help students to feel better about
themselves and not make them feel alone.
