QUIZ BEE: BATTLE OF THE BRAINS

Mechanics and Guidelines:

A. PARTICIPANTS
1. The contest is open to all bona fide students of San Antonio National High School in all
grade levels.
2. The quiz bee is by individual in nature.
3. There should be 4 representatives per section in each grade level for the elimination phase
and 10 Groups with 3 members consisting of students from different grade levels for the
Final phase.

B. SCOPE AND COVERAGE


1. The quiz bee shall cover general questions on GENERAL SCIENCE, BIOLOGY,
CHEMISTRY, EARTH SCIENCE, and PHYSICS.
2. There shall be two (2) phases for each level: Elimination Phase and Final Phase.

C. ELIMINATION PHASE
1. The elimination phase is written in nature and shall be participated in by all representatives
per section from Grade 7-12.
2. The Elimination Phase shall be conducted on _______________________
3. There shall be 30 Questions to be answered by the participants within one (1) hour.
4. The papers will be evaluated by the Quiz Bee Committee members and to be verified by the
Department Head.
5. The top five (5) participants from each grade level shall join in the Final Phase.

D. FINAL PHASE
1. The Final Phase shall be conducted on ____________________________________
2. There shall be ten (10) teams, each teams composing of three (3) members from the different
Grade Level coming from those who successfully made it in the Elimination Phase.
3. There shall be three (3) rounds: Round 1-EASY CATEGORY, Round 2-, and Round 3-
DIFFICULT CATEGORY.
4. There shall be ten (10) questions in Round 1, ten (10) in Round 2, and five (5) in Round 3.
Three (3) questions shall be given in cases of ties. Each question in Round 1 weighs 1 mark,
Round 2 weighs 3 marks, and 5 marks for Round 3.
5. A Quiz Master, a timer, and a scorer shall be assigned to facilitate the competition.
6. A team composed of Head of the Department shall evaluate and give decisions in cases of
queries and complaints.

E. QUIZ BEE Proper


1. Cellular or mobile phones are not allowed during the competition.
2. The Quiz Mater shall read the question while the question itself will be flashed on the screen
for the contestants to see.
3. All answers must be written on the Slate Boards provided for each team. It shall be raised
when the allotted time is over. Failure to do so will signal a warning for the first offense and
disqualification for the second.
4. Any question or query to the correctness of the answers should be raised before the start of
the next question.
5. The questions are open for any team to answer. Points shall be given for the team who gets
the correct answer.

F. DECLARATION OF WINNERS
1. The team that garnered the highest mark/points shall be declared as the winner.
2. In case of ties, three clincher questions will be raised to break the tie. The mechanics for the
clincher round will be the same as that of Round 1.
3. The decision of the committee on the announcement of winners will be final and irrevocable.
4. Top 3 winners will be announced.
SCITOK EXPERIMENT COMPETITION

MECHANICS AND GUIDELINES:


1. Only one (1) representative/entry per grade level consisting of 2-4 members from Grade 7 to
Grade 12 will be allowed to join.
2. The participants are free to select their own topic for a specific experiment.
3. The experiment must be related to any branch of science.
4. The participants should show proper procedure and precautions when doing the experiment. After
demonstrating the experiment procedure, the participants will tell the science behind the
experiment.
5. The participants can use the TikTok application and other video editing applications in filming
their experiments.
6. The duration of the video must be 1-3 minute/s including the intro and outro.
7. Participants should observe proper and decent attire, appropriate sound and language. PROPS are
allowed.
8. Experiments using flammable and corrosive materials is prohibited.
9. Deadline of the submission of the entry per grade level is on_________________________.
10. Top 3 winners will be announced.

ESSAY WRITING CONTEST


MECAHNICS AND GUIDELINES:
1. Only 1 representative per section will be allowed to join.
2. Each participant is allowed to submit one (1) entry only.
3. Each participant will be given bond paper where they will be writing their essay.
4. The essay shall be in accordance to the Theme:_______________________________.Maximum
of 300 words.
5. The working hour is limited only to one (1) hour.
6. Top 3 winners will be announced.
7. Criteria for Judging are as follows:
a. Creativity/ Originality- 40%
b. Relevance to the Theme-40%
c. Originality- 10%
d. Organization-10%

SLOGAN MAKING CONTEST

2. Each participant is allowed to submit one (1) entry only.
3. Materials that will be used by the contestant will be:
a. ¼ size white cartolina
b. Any coloring /drawing medium/materials
4. The slogan shall be in accordance to the Theme:_________________________________.
5. The working hour is limited only to one (1) hour.

MOBILE PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST

MECHANICS ANG GUIDELINES:


1. The contest is open to all bona fide students of San Antonio National High School.
2. There shall be 20 slots, first come first serve basis.
3. Each participant is allowed to submit one (1) photo entry.
4. The entry should be in accordance with the theme:
5. All photo entries must be appropriate to the competition theme and must be originally captured
by the participant himself.
6. Strictly no using of DSLR and other camera gadgets. Photos must only be taken using any phone
(Android or iOS)
7. Post processing is allowed in the contest but the raw file must be submitted together with post-
processed photo entry.
8. One paragraph caption or explanation of the photo must be provided, written below the photo
entry.
9. Final submission of the Mobile Photography entries will be on __________________until
____________.
10. Posting of the mobile entries will be on ____________.

SCIENCE JINGLE MAKING CONTEST

MECHANICS ANG GUIDELINES:


1. The contest is open to all bona fide students of San Antonio National High School.
2. Each grade level is only allowed to submit one entry. Each group shall consist of a minimum of 5
students to the maximum of 10 students.
3. Lyric should be originally composed and written using English and Filipino language or the
combination of both. Lyrics should not contain vulgar and rude words.
4. Melody used in the jingle can be original or adapted. The content of the jingle must showcase the
theme:____________________________The participants may use minus 1 o used live
accompaniment for their music.
5. The jingle is to be perform during the culminating activity on September 29, 2022.
6. Criteria for Judging are as follows:
Lyrics (Relevance to the Theme)-40%
Musicality (melody and harmony)-30%

Performance and Presentation (overall impact)-10%

TECHNO-ROBOTICS DANCE CONTEST

MECHANICS ANG GUIDELINES:


1. The contest is open to all bona fide students of San Antonio National High School.
2. Each grade level will perform a dance number with a time limit of 4 minutes. Beyond this limit, a
total of 5 points will be deducted from the group’s total score.
3. The members of the groups maybe composed of all males or females, or any combination thereof.
4. The dance number must have an accompaniment of any music, which is modern, robotics or
lively.
5. Folk dances or accompaniment of folk music is not allowed.
6. The use of pyrotechnic gadgets, a smoke or combustible material as props is not allowed.
7. The techno-robotic dance is to be perform during the culminating activity on September 29, 2022.
8. Criteria for Judging are as follows:
Choreography (creativity, artistry, style and originality) -50%
Execution (Timing and Coordination, Projection & Expression)-30%
Costume -10%
Audience Impact-10%
