flat and curved surfaces and basic shapes.

B. Performance Standards: the learner is able to recognize and construct straight and
curved lines, flat and curved surfaces and basic shapes

C. Learning Competencies: constructs squares, rectangles, triangles, circles, half- circles,

and quarter circles using cut-outs and square grids, M2GE-IIIg-6

D. Integration: Values; MAPEH-Music, MTB/ ENGLISH

E. Strategies: Group work, Games, Differentiated Instruction

II. Content
Constructing Squares, Rectangles, Triangles, Half Circles, and Quarter
Circles.

III. Learning References:

A. References
1. Curriculum Guide: K-12-MELCS page 204
2. Teacher’s Guide:
3. Learner’s Material:
4. Textbook Pages
5. Additional Resources from Learning Resources ( LR ) Portal

B. Other Learning Resources: Activity sheet, weighing scale, Canva Presentation,

Realia, Cut-out pictures

IV. Procedures:
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Drill
Say: Show cut-out of food items.
When I show an object, measured by gram, clap your hands once, if an object
measured by kilogram, clap your hands twice.

2. Review
Show picture cards as shown below. Let us compare the objects being weight.

Ask: Which vegetables are heavier? Which vegetables are less?

3. Motivation
Sing the” Fruit Salad Song “

B. Developmental Activities
1. Presentation
Present the word story.

Say: the apples weigh 500 grams ( g ) while the strawberry weigh 3 kilograms
( kg ).

Ask: Which are heavier? Apple or strawberry ? Why?

2. Performing the Activity (Differentiated Instruction)

Group 1: Compare the object in each set. Check the one that is heavy, cross out
the one that is light.
Group 2: Look at the picture. Compare the fruits and vegetables in each set.Circle
the one that is heavy and box the one that is light.
Group 3. Compare. Write the symbols.
> ( greater than , ) < ( less than ), or = ( equal )
1. 200 g _____ 100 g
2. 1000g _____ 2 kg
3. 5 kg _____ 6 kg
4. 50 kg _____ 2000g
5. 6 kg _____ 6000g

3.Processing the Activity

Remind the children that the abbreviation for gram is g and the abbreviation for
kilogram is kg.

Say: In measuring and comparing different masses of objects we use the key
term such as greater than ( > ), less than ( < ) or equal ( = ).

4. Reinforcing the Concept and Skills

5. Summarizing the Lesson

nga butang mao ang unit of measure nga kilograms.

6. Applying to New and Other Situation

iyang mama? Unsa man nga pamatasan ang nipakita ni Emily? Gatabang ka ba
sa imong mama parehas ni Emily?

V. Assessment:
simbolo < ( less than ), > ( greater than ), or = ( equal ).
1. 600g _____ 500g 5. 5000g _____ 5kg
2. 2000g _____ 1000g 6. 12g _____ 12kg
3. 10kg _____ 25kg 7. 500g _____ 1 kg
4. 100g _____ 4kg 8. 4000g _____ 2kg
5. 1kg _____ 1kg 10. 500g _____ 500g

VI. ASSIGNMENT
1. 15 kabuok karots ____________
