Strategy: Structuring a good paragraph
A good paragraph begins with a clear and relevant topic sentence. This alerts

idea it introduces in subsequent sentences. In this task, you will make and
describe plans for a birthday celebration for one of your friends at your place.
A. To begin to organize your thoughts, make notes in response to the following
questions.
1. Chi compie gli anni?

3. Quante persone inviti? Chi sono?
4. Che cosa pensi di servire?
5. Che cosa portano gli altri invitati (guests)?
6. Che cosa regali al festeggiato/alla festeggiata (the guest of honor)?
B. Now, on the basis of your notes, write a paragraph describing your plans
for the birthday celebration, based on the strategy noted above.
C. Make sure that you have spelled all words correctly in your completed
paragraph and double-check subject-verb agreement and noun-adjective
agreement.
