relevant product knowledge of Caterpillar diesel, Gas engines and engine components and as

Caterpillar India Private Limited – India (IPSD)

1. Manufacturing Engineer Oct 2022 – Present

 Responsible for implementing ECN (Engineering Change Number) related changes for
Engines in TTP (Test Trim Paint) division and mapping it to operator interface using Siemens
integrated Team centre PLM software, MES systems and SAP ERP software.
 Spearheading the acquisition of test air handling equipment for newly built test cell to test 7
litre diesel engines by overseeing the procurement process to managed delivery of equipment,
on-time and within budget, to achieve 100% equipment uptime and savings of $100k in
outsourcing costs.
 Conducted extensive research on various suppliers and manufacturers, identifying and
negotiating with vendors to secure contracting for the air handling unit equipment and working
for the installation
 Planned and established the layout for setting up of Air handling unit for new test cell using
AutoCAD 2021 software
 Capable of part modelling and drawing detailing in Creo parametric 7.0 and Catia V5.

2. Production Section Manager Nov 2020 – Sep 2022

 Managed and supervised Medium engines production line involving the continuous assembly
of more than 30+variants and 13L large engines assembly line with more than 5+ variants.
 Conducted regular process audits of standard work procedures to ensure manufacturing process
controls are in place to achieve 100% First Pass Rate constantly.
 Eliminated a major defect in 3306 model diesel engine front housing assembly by
implementing a Poka – yoke mechanism and cut down the scrap cost per unit by 5%
 Collaborated with CFTS and performed PFMEA for the critical processes of the engines which
failed at the customer end to eliminate the manmade issues by 50%
 Supported the quality team to eliminate the leak test failures of the Cylinder heads exported to
Corinth by performing Measurement System Analysis.
 Coordinated with the NPI team in the UTN project of the cylinder heads and delivered more
than 1500 new UTN cylinder heads to the customer on time with safety and zero defects

3. Student Intern

 Worked as a Project Intern in Caterpillar India Pvt.Ltd , Thiruvallur.Successfully completed

the projects titled,“Understanding of Metallurgical properties of parts and report
writing”

 During the internship period, I assisted the Advanced Materials Technology department
with testing and analysing the failed parts in the field for 2 models - OHT and HEX vehicles
in the MHU division

 This helped in identifying metallurgical properties and chemical properties of the

lubricants used in the vehicle. I collaborated with the Metallurgy department on all the test
processes like Hardness test ,Tensile test , Non Destructive testing , Impact testing ,
Magnetic Particle Inspection test , Micro structure Interpretation and prepared the field
failure analysis reports for more than 25 failed parts.
